It's Monday! What Are You Reading? - October 13th, 2014

This weekly meme is sponsored by Book Journey, and we talk about things we read last week, and our plans for what we'll read this coming week.

Last week:

Last week I only got 2 reviews done, which is what my goal is, so that's not bad.  But I guess having 4 the week before evened it out.  But then I got to read, and of course LOVE, Blue Lily, Lily Blue.
Currently Reading:

I'm not really enthused, or necessarily enjoying my current read.  But since I requested it as an e-galley, I feel like I need to finish it.  I can see that it is a good book, it's just not really my type of book.  I do know that if I don't finish it tonight, I will be DNFing it and moving on to my next read.

This week:

Okay, I have a couple things I've signed up for this week.  A cover reveal, which I don't normally do because I don't always really pay attention when other blogs do them. But I figured I'd help an author that I met at BEA this year promote her book.  I also have an author I'm friends with on Facebook who I will be doing a post for his new book, so I'll be reading that this week.  It's over 400 pages, though, so I hope I can get through it quickly!  That's another reason I may give up on my current read after today.  Plus, I loved the Top 10 Tuesday topic for this week.  I even started working on it last week, but then haven't had time to go back and finish it yet!  Will have to get it done soon, before tomorrow anyway.  I will also have a Stacking the Shelves including my Amazon delivery that I griped about last week, that I will hopefully get today.  And last but not least, since I plan to actually complete NaNoWriMo this year, I know that will mean less reading during the month of November, and also less time to blog.  So I want to start getting posts ready and scheduled to help out.  I plan to look through the Top Ten Tuesday topics ahead of time and pick some, as well as other memes that might be listed ahead of time.  Here are my planned reads for the week after I finish Glory O'Brien's History of the Future:

I feel so behind!  Must get back on track!  Those are my plans for the week, what are yours?

  1. DNFing ARCs is always difficult. I know I hang on way longer if I'm reading a book for review than I would if I had just picked it up completely on my own. Hopefully it gets better. I really want to try Maggie Stiefvater. I've heard great things about her books. Glad you loved Blue Lily, Lily Blue.

    1. It's especially hard when you requested the ARC or e-galley. But I'm hoping to finish it tonight. Thanks for stopping by!

  2. Good luck with NaNoWri - and with getting through that difficult book - although it sucks that's it's one by A.S. King - one of my fave authors :-)

    1. Yeah, I've read other books by A.S.King and I think I liked them. Don't know if maybe I'm just not in the mood for it. But I kind of don't like the main character. Thanks for visiting!
