Sunday Post #27 and Stacking The Shelves May 17th, 2015

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted  @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme.
Last week on the blog:

Only got 2 reviews done this week. Didn't get as much reading done as I would have liked.  In fact, last night I only had like 5% left in the book I was reading, Phobic, and I couldn't stay awake long enough to finish it. So mad at myself.  So I'll finish it today.  I also didn't get a post every day.  And with my walking, well, it was rainy almost all week again.

This week on the blog:
  • Review of Phobic by Cortney Pearson
  • Book Blitz:  Ghosts of July by Megan Applegate
  • Waiting on Wednesday
  • Book Blitz:  Aftermath by Tom Lewis
  • Promo Post:  Revolution by Randi Cooley Wilson
  • Maybe Cover Characteristic:  Red Covers
  • Possible Reviews:  A School for Unusual Girlsby Kathleen Baldwin, YOLO Juliet by William Shakespeare and Brett Wright, and/or The Cage by Megan Shepherd
It is going to be a pretty busy week.  It is the last week of school, and I work two nights at the bookstore.  Tuesday night I'm going to the NKOTB concert.  Wednesday night I have to drive across town and drop off one of my dogs at the breeder before I go out of town on Friday.  The other dog stays with a friend closer to my house, and I'll drop her off Thursday night on my way to work at the bookstore.  Friday is teachers only, and we can leave when everything is checked in and grades are finished. Since I don't really have either of those things to do, I'm going to go in for a couple hours and then drive on down to meet my family in Branson for the weekend.  We stay in these cabins on the river, and there should be lots of reading time this weekend!

My fit/walking goals:
Not sure I'll get much done this week.  It is supposed to be nice this afternoon, so I'm going to try to get out and do that this afternoon. But then I may not have time until Wednesday, but with dropping Argyle off later in the evening, I kind of want to be home to spend time with him instead of away walking.  I'll try to walk down the street by our cabins in Branson, but that will probably be about it for this week.  Once school is out though, I hope to start being much better and routine about my walking.  I also want to continue the Run Walk Run program.

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga's Reviews.  It is a way for us to share the new books we have collected.  No physical books really this week, other than some coloring books I got for my family to use in Branson this weekend.

Yeah, that's a lot of books, but none are added to my TBR list, so it's okay that I bought them.  Plus it will give the adults stuff to color while the kids are coloring.

Free e-books:

I  haven't read the Alienated series yet, but I want to, so downloaded this free novella.  The other one I thought would be fun to get a look at what authors and publishers can use.

So that is what I added to my shelves this week, although the coloring books probably won't actually go on my bookshelves.  Have you gotten into the adult coloring book trend yet?  What books did you get this week?

  1. I didn't have a very productive reading week, myself. I had such big plans to crush an entire book last night after my son went to sleep, but I couldn't stay awake for more thanks two chapters. Hopefully, next week is better. I'm really looking forward to reading A Thousand Nights. Those coloring books look fun. My OCD would be so happy to have them, but I'd probably become obsessed. Have a great week! Happy reading!

    1. I'm hoping for a lot of reading time next weekend. Just don't know how much there will be during the week. I love the coloring books. Will see if anyone actually uses them now that I bought them though. Thanks for visiting!

    1. They have! We were figuring that we sold at least 100 in a week's time at the bookstore, which makes us about $1000, since they are around $10 each. And all we had to do was put up a table dedicated to them! Thanks for stopping by!

  6. I didn't get very much reading done last week either but I did manage to finish one book so I suppose I shouldn't complain too much. I can't say that I have tried an adult coloring book but it does sound like fun. I need to get my butt in gear when it comes to working out too especially as I am signed up for a 5K next month. Yikes! I should probably be running right now rather than sitting here but yet here I am :) Have a great week!

    1. Hey, at least you got some reading done. Some weeks we just have to be happy about that much. I complained about last week being all rainy, and then yesterday was just beautiful outside. But I didn't go walk, as really I just wanted to be a bum and not HAVE to do anything. And right now, walking still feels like a chore.

  9. Hi there - I'm with you on the fitness goal. My husband and I are getting ready to go to the gym as we speak. They have some motivational signs posted. One is:

  10. Hi Lisa,
Great post! It sounds like you've got a really busy week coming up so you'll be glad for the weekend when it comes :) I have one of those adult colouring books too, my boyfriend got me an "anti-stress colouring book" for my birthday complete with good quality pencils. Hmm... what do you say to that? I said "good pencils" lol. I hope you enjoy your weekend, it sounds like a much needed rest!
    Happy reading,

  11. You work at a bookstore???? I am so jealous! Though I feel like if I worked at a bookstore - even part time - I wouldn't actually get much work done. Lol. I haven't got much reviewing, blogging or reading done last week, so I am striving to do a lot better this week in between babysitting. :D Those coloring books look fun! I am curious about buying myself an adult coloring book to see what it's all about and if it's as fun as it used to be, lol! (by adult I don't mean pornographic, just a coloring book for adults)

    1. I get work done at the bookstore, I just don't make much money because I find so many things I want to buy! I haven't had much time to read this week so far, hoping for lots of time to read and relax this weekend. I love to color, it is very stress relieving as an adult I think. Thanks for visiting!

    1. I think retellings have turned into my new "thing" replacing dystopians. I love retellings of stories I haven't read as well, makes me decide if I'm interested in going to read the original or not. Thanks for returning the visit!

  17. A Thousand Nights!!! Oh, how I want that book, it sounds SO good! I hope you love it! And working at a bookstore sounds so fun, but also counterproductive for I would spend ALL the money ;) I love the coloring books too! Hope you have a bit of a calmer week and more time to read this week :)

    1. I can't wait to read it. I've enjoyed the other Disney books I've read and guessing this will go right with those. You are correct about it being counterproductive to making money! My week so far has not been any calmer, but this weekend should be great. Thanks for stopping by!

  18. I barely read anything at all either this week. But when your body is telling you it's time to sleep, usually it's better to just go to sleep (: The book will still be there in the morning! Thank you for stopping by at my blog

    1. Yeah, especially when you have to get up and go to work in the morning. But I've been getting some reading in this weekend while I'm on vacation with my family, so I knew I might get it all made up for.
