A short time ago I was contacted by UberPrints and offered a free t-shirt for doing a review and promotion on my blog. As someone who loves to have t-shirts to wear that show off whatever I might currently be infatuated with, or else whatever I'm a fangirl of, I jumped on this opportunity. While trying I had a hard time trying to decide exactly what I wanted to put on this t-shirt, the actual process was as easy as pie!
First thing you do is pick what type of shirt you want to make. You can choose men's or unisex, women's, kids and babies, or even pets! Depending which type of shirt you pick, there are a multitude of color choices. Now, the first thing you have to know about that though, is that there are two groups of colors for each product. There is digital printing and screen printing. If you are just making one for yourself, you want digital printing, which also may mean a few less color choices. But if you are wanting to order a lot of them, say for a team, or group of people, then you can go with screen printing.
After that you can pick an image, or the words that you want on the shirt. I was very impressed with the variety and amount of clip art that is provided on the site so that you don't have to go looking elsewhere. There are so many different type of fonts for the words as well. You can change the sizes of the pictures and words. You can even change the colors of the images, which is so much fun! I chose a shirt with what I feel is my life motto, "So many books, so little time." You can see that one of my dogs had to check out my new shirt when I put it on the bed to take pictures.
Finally you'll pick your shirt size. Now, that is the one area that my shirt didn't quite turn out how I expected. It was a little bigger than I thought based on the information. But I'm sure that all depends on the type of shirt you pick. Here you can see how I ended up looking in the t-shirt. It's a bit long on me, but since I'm only 5 foot tall, that is how most shirts are on me.
All I can say is how much fun it was, and how much I love this shirt! I also have a ton of ideas for other shirts I want to make. A couple that I really want before I meet some other favorite authors. As well as one for another favorite saying of mine. I will be making all my future fangirl t-shirts with UberPrints.com, and I definitely recommend that you try it as well!

Review: Draw Play by Tia Lewis
Book info:
Title: Draw Play
Author: Tia Lewis
Genre: New Adult Sports Romance
Published: September 5th, 2016

My rating: 4 stars
First, thanks to XPresso Book Tours for allowing me to read this book for review. I really enjoyed it, it was a pretty quick read!
We have two main characters, and we get the story from both of their viewpoints. I really like when authors do that. So while you get the suspense for one character not knowing what is going on, you still kind of know and wonder how they are going to handle it. The two main characters are Jake and Claire.
Jake is a football player, and a really good one at that. But his grades barely make it. The coach wants to make sure that his grades are exactly where they need to be this year, so that nothing can happen to keep him from playing and having his shot at the career he wants after college. So they hire a tutor for him.
Claire is your usual nerdy type of girl. In high school she was tricked by a popular football player, and now has no trust or respect for them. At the end of the last school year she had lined up the perfect job to help pay for her schooling, and it was in the college bookstore. But something happens and they give the job to someone else. When they find another job for her, it is tutoring. While tutoring pays more, she has to work with a football player. One who is, of course, drop dead gorgeous, and a ladies man.
But while Jake is not happy about having to be tutored, he sees past the nerdy walls that Claire has put up, and really is pretty nice to her. There were times that I really felt like she was overreacting to something he'd done. But when we know what happened to her in the past, that probably explains it. The romance and sex scenes were definitely hot and steamy.
For the most part it was written pretty simply, and a little predictable. But all in a good way, an enjoyable way. I will definitely be looking to read more books by this author in the future.

EXCERPT:
“You must be the famous Libitz,” he’d opened, taking his assigned seat beside her, and flashing his sexiest grin. After all, if she was his chosen conquest for the weekend, there was no time like the present to work his wiles. Wearing a simple black sheath dress with aqua circles, 70s-style mod make-up and oversized silver and crystal chandelier earrings that almost brushed her thin shoulders, she’d turned to him and blinked those wide, all-seeing eyes.
“And you…must be kidding.”
Taken aback, he’d stared at her for a second before chuckling. “Wha—I mean, how’s that?”
“Let’s start over,” she said, cocking her head to the side. “Here’s your line, Romeo: “Hi, I’m Étienne’s brother, Jean-Christian. It’s nice to meet you.” Want to give it a try?”
He cleared his throat, his smile fading. “Hi, I’m Étienne’s brother, Jean-Christian. It’s nice to meet you.”
She locked eyes with his, her lips neutral, neither tilted up nor down. “Hi. I’m Libitz Feingold, Kate’s best friend…and it’s not cold enough.”
“What?” asked J.C., feeling completely turned around.
“It’s not cold enough in hell for me to fall for someone like you,” she said, then shifted back around to talk to the person on her other side.
Well, fuck me, thought J.C., taking another gulp of beer as he tried to figure out if he was insulted or impressed. After a moment, he nudged her in the side with his elbow and she looked at him over her shoulder, her expression annoyed.
“Yes?”
“I hear the temperature’s dropping there,” he said casually, then added, “because they’re expecting a visit from you.”
“Ha!” she chortled, a genuine grin brightening her eyes for a moment before she quickly reigned it back in to practiced ennui. “Is that right?”
He shrugged, tipping his bottle of beer back as he held her eyes, challenging her to come back at him with something clever. “So I heard.”
“From all the friends you’ve got there?”
He almost spit his beer out. Damn, but she was quick.
“Truce?’ he asked, placing his beer on the table and holding out his hand.
She stared at his hand for a moment, then looked away, leaning forward to pick up her champagne glass and bringing it slowly to her lips. “No, thanks. Mama didn’t raise no fool.”
“You’re unreal.” She shook her head, that bored look still in place.
“Nope. I’m real. I’m just not a good target for charming scamps looking for trouble.”
“A target? Shit. Who got to you?” he asked, feeling a little abused by her insta-judgement of him without actually getting a chance to know him in person. Not that she was wrong exactly. But getting into trouble with the right person could be a hell of a lot of fun.
“The list is long and distinguished,” she shot back.
His eyes widened and his lips wobbled.
“Oh, God,” she said, shaking her head as her cheeks bloomed an appealing pink under her make-up. “I walked right into that one didn’t I?”
“Yes, you did,” said J.C. with what he hoped was a disarming grin. “All together, now…”
“So’s my Johnson,” they said at the same time, quoting the rebuttal line from Top Gun.
“Hey, look at that,” he said, still smiling at her. “You do know how to have fun. I was beginning to worry.”
Her smile instantly faded. “You’re not as cute as you think you are.”
“Yeah,” he said, nodding as he finished the last of his beer. “I am.”

Book Blitz and Giveaway: Silver-Tongued Devil by Rosalind James
Title: Silver-Tongued Devil
Author: Rosalind James
Series: Portland Devils
Publication date: November 15th, 2016
Genres: Adult, Romance, Sports
No more wild rides. No more wild side.
Blake Orbison’s pro football career may have ended with a bang, but not calling the signals anymore just gives him more time to devote to his business enterprises, including the latest and greatest: the opening of the Wild Horse Resort in scenic north Idaho. And that other one, too. Blake’s on the marriage track, and he’s got a game plan. But when he runs into a trespasser leaping from his shoreline boulders into his lake, what’s a good ol’ boy to do but strip down and join her?
Dakota Savage is nobody’s temporary diversion, least of all the man responsible for her family’s semi-desperate circumstances. Some people may think she has a piercing too many, but she’s had more than enough of being called trash in this town. She’s come home to Wild Horse to run her stepfather’s painting business, and any extra time she has goes into creating her stained glass. An overpaid, entitled, infuriating NFL quarterback is no part of her life plan, no matter how sweet he talks. No matter how slow he smiles. No matter what.

EXCERPT:
It wasn’t Jerry. That much, she could tell as he got closer. It was somebody a whole lot slimmer. Tall, check. Short dark hair, check. Black shirt, check. But no gut, and she thought there was some darkness around the jaw that wasn’t quite a beard. Another security guy. She could be cute enough for him. Maybe. What would he care, really, what she did?“Hi,” she said as he approached. “Next time maybe don’t yell right when I’m jumping.” Taking the initiative. Projecting confidence. She was better at that than “cute.”
“Hell of a graceful landing,” he agreed, and glasses or no, she could see the flash of white teeth through the dark stubble just fine. Also that he had a pair of shoulders to die for, and some very nice arms in that T-shirt. Not to mention long legs in dusty jeans and work boots, and about six foot three of lean muscle. Nobody she knew, because she’d have noticed him. She might not be able to see him, exactly, but she could see enough.
“If you’re security,” she said, “I was just going.”
“I’m not security. And I hope that’s a lie that you were just going, because that looked real fun.”
He had a Southern drawl she’d surely never heard in Wild Horse. Slow as molasses, and just that thick and sweet. Ah hope thass a lah that you were juss goin’. “Let me guess,” she said, feeling a sneaky little surge of excitement. “You’re out here to do wrong. Sign says ‘No Trespassing,’ and you’ve been given the big lecture, but you’re not worried, because you’re a badass like that.”
Some more grin. “Could be. Is that water deep enough to be safe? We’re both too pretty to get ourselves paralyzed.”
“Oh, yeah,” she assured him. “Best spot on the lake for it. No place else has rocks like this or a pool this deep. Which means, of course, that the Man comes and fences it off and tells you that you can’t use it anymore, even if you’re working out here. Gotta love capitalism, and this is about the worst.”
He gazed into the distance and scratched thoughtfully at his cheek. “Bad place to work, you think? Huh.”
“I wouldn’t do it for a heartbeat if I didn’t need the money. You could say that I’m not in love with Mr. Blake Orbison or his company. But you know, we all need the money.”
“That we do. Arrogant guy?”
“Let’s say that I don’t like the way he treats people. On an . . . institutional scale.” Whoa, girl, she told herself. Lose the bitter and get back to reckless. More attractive, and a whole lot more fun. Trust her to meet a truly prime specimen of manflesh for once and immediately put him off. “So I’m sure I shouldn’t jump off his rocks. But hey, what’s life without a little danger?” There, that was better.
“Now, see, darlin’,” he said, his voice getting even deeper, the accent going a shade richer, “that’s what I tell myself all the time. It’s a real shame that so few people think like us.”

My Review:
I haven't quite finished the book, but I can say that I am really enjoying it! I like the characters a lot. And the plot is really detailed and keeps me wondering where the story will go next. I like how the characters find out that they may be interested in each other, even though Denna is actually betrothed to the prince, Mare's sister. The book is told in alternating chapters between Denna and Mare. And while you can get the difference and know exactly who each chapter is told by, you can also see all the differences in them, and how they deal with the feelings they come to discover about each other. I am really looking forward as I mentioned above, to see where their relationship will go, as well as how it will affect the marriage and alliance between the two kingdoms. I hope to find out that the magic will become accepted, and the people will find who is causing all the violence. There is a woman who is causing issues with the kingdom, and I am interested to see if she is really behind it all, especially since she is really hard to like so far. I like the LGBTQ aspect, and how it seems so seamlessly to fit in. It's not just out there, to be in your face, like some books do. It seems just like normal life should be between people and a romance.
This is a book I will definitely recommend, and also purchase for the school library where I work. I hope to read more books like this in the future, as well as more from this author.

Review: Forgiving Lies by Molly McAdams
Book info:
Title: Forgiving Lies
Author: Molly McAdams
Series: Forgiving Lies #1
Genre: New Adult Romance
Published: October 29th, 2013
Source: Purchased from bargain section at bookstore
My rating: 5 stars
Okay, after this book, Molly McAdams has been redeemed for me. The first of her books that I listened to, Taking Chances, was good, but I had issues with it. I only gave that one 3 stars. But this book blew me away! And I can't wait to read on in the series, especially after I know how the next book is going to go from the preview.
The two main characters are Kash and Rachel. Kash is an undercover cop sent to where he is in order to try to find a serial killer. So right off the bat he's having to lie to Rachel, who at first isn't a fan of his. She finds him kind of rude. Not to mention that Rachel's best friend and roommate, Candice, is hooking up with Kash's roommate/partner. At first Rachel is having issues because even though the guy she'd always had a crush on, Candice's cousin Blake. He seems to want to go out with Rachel now as well. But Rachel isn't sure because he seems to be quite the ladies' man. She finally gives in and goes out with him, and it turns out he's not quite the guy she'd thought.
However Candice won't believe anything bad about her cousin, even with her best friend telling her, so she keeps trying to get Rachel back with him. Even with Kash and Rachel beginning to feel something for each other.
Kash knows he shouldn't get involved with Rachel, at least not in any way more meaningful than his roommate is with her roommate. But Rachel's got other things going on in her past, her own secrets that she's keeping from Kash. Kash can see from the way she reacts to something that she has been through a trauma, something he knows from his experience as a cop. And so he slowly works with her to help her move on. Eventually their friendship grows into something more. But this brings Blake back into Rachel's life. And not in a good way.
In the end, Kash's case and Rachel's safety will become intertwined, and Kash will have to make a very heroic rescue of the girl he loves.
I've seen several posts on Goodreads talking about the little bit of a cliffhanger at the end, and yeah, it gets you. I've also seen people talk about the book coming with a "trigger warning". I'm really a bit in the air about that. While I understand people's point, I have to say that I have been through my own situation that this could be a trigger for, and I have my own anxiety problems, but I don't expect an author to give me a "warning" when I read a book. Sorry, my own thoughts on that issue.
Overall, I really, really liked this book and am eager to not only read on in this series, but to also read more books by McAdams now.

Waiting on Wednesday: Now I Rise (And I Darken #2) by Kiersten White
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine where we spotlight upcoming releases that we're eagerly awaiting. This week I'm excited about the sequel to a book that I really was kind of blown away by earlier this year, And I Darken. This just seems like such an original retelling of history, and I love that! And the cover of the first one was great, but this one is awesome as well! Here's the blurb from Goodreads:
Lada Dracul has no allies. No throne. All she has is what she’s always had: herself. After failing to secure the Wallachian throne, Lada is out to punish anyone who dares to cross her blood-strewn path. Filled with a white-hot rage, she storms the countryside with her men, accompanied by her childhood friend Bogdan, terrorizing the land. But brute force isn’t getting Lada what she wants. And thinking of Mehmed brings little comfort to her thorny heart. There’s no time to wonder whether he still thinks about her, even loves her. She left him before he could leave her.
What Lada needs is her younger brother Radu’s subtlety and skill. But Mehmed has sent him to Constantinople—and it’s no diplomatic mission. Mehmed wants control of the city, and Radu has earned an unwanted place as a double-crossing spy behind enemy lines. Radu longs for his sister’s fierce confidence—but for the first time in his life, he rejects her unexpected plea for help. Torn between loyalties to faith, to the Ottomans, and to Mehmed, he knows he owes Lada nothing. If she dies, he could never forgive himself—but if he fails in Constantinople, will Mehmed ever forgive him?
As nations fall around them, the Dracul siblings must decide: what will they sacrifice to fulfill their destinies? Empires will topple, thrones will be won . . . and souls will be lost.

Love doesn’t exist…
Or so Tyler Johnson thinks. He’s never had much, if any, of it thrown his way. A chance meeting with the enigmatic Jaxon Markham causes Ty to—if still not believe in love—at least know without a doubt that lust is alive and well. Ty’s not looking for forever, but what’s the harm in spending a few days—and scorching nights—with Jax; as long as Jax plays by his rules and keeps things casual and uncomplicated?
Jax knows his luck has finally changed for the better when he lays eyes on Tyler. The man is gorgeous, and stirs feelings in Jax he’d thought he’d never experience. The more time Jax spends with Ty, the more certain he is that Ty’s his soulmate. Now all that remains is convincing the stubborn Tyler of that fact, but Jax is more than up for the task, because he’s nothing if not persistent—a fact the elusive Tyler will soon find out.
Jax quickly, and much too easily, demolishes all of Ty’s protective walls and Ty reluctantly begins to think that maybe that intangible emotion called love is alive and well after all, and perhaps finally within his grasp. However, when his ugly past returns to haunt him, making him doubt all the good he’s experienced with and because of Jax, Ty’s positive outlook crumbles, giving way to doubt and despair.
Can he be the man Jax needs and deserves? Or will past and present demons destroy Ty’s one chance at true happiness?

Athena Harrow is about to turn twenty-one, but there will be no celebration. What is there to celebrate when the world is ruled by demons?
She hates the darkness the demons brought with them and longs for the light to return to the world—a world she only vaguely remembers. The people in her forest village blindly accept the life the demons forced upon them, even tolerating the yearly ascension ceremony where all the girls who have turned twenty-one are either sent away to serve the Master Demon or left in the village and forced to procreate.
But Paymon, the assigned village demon, selects a different role for Athena, a role that pits her against the village. While she adapts to her new life, Erebus, a younger, more powerful demon, arrives, and Athena must play a dangerous game with his emotions in return for information about the demon’s reign of darkness.
As Athena’s dreams of restoring the light begin to fade, her life with Erebus takes an unexpected turn, and this time it’s her life being put to the test.
Set in the forest around Buttercrambe in North Yorkshire, England, INIQUITY explores the frightening, darker side of romance and the uncontrolled emotions it can unleash.

Excerpt:
“Well, well, well.”
I held back a cry as I was tapped on the
shoulder and then held firmly by a hand. I was spun around and my hood pushed
away from my face.
The man grinned as I was revealed to him.
“Athena!”
I recognised him instantly from his tall
hat and his long grey hair.
“Sebastian.” His name slipped from my lips
as a rush of air.
He slipped his hand into mine and held it
with a firm grasp. “What are you doing here?” He looked around me, peering into
the background of the tavern. “Is he around?”
“It’s just her.” Giselle beamed at me and
then Sebastian. “You owe me, Seb. Don’t disappoint.” She wandered away from the
bar, shooting him a flirtatious smile over her shoulder.
“Just us then,” Sebastian said. His lips
were shaped like those of a woman, too perfect a pout for a man. His skin was
smooth, pale, as if never exposed to anything but the darkness. And he smiled,
sickeningly so.
I tried to pull my hand away from his, but
he only tightened his hold. He sidled next to me so his body was touching mine.
I could feel the heat of his body through our clothes, and I shifted away,
jerking my head backward.
“He’ll be here soon,” I said, hoping that
somehow Erebus would find me. I didn’t allow myself to think that he was still
at the village and didn’t even know I’d run away.
“Really? Well then, I think we need to get
moving pretty quickly.”
“I’m not going anywhere with you.”
My raised voice caught the attention of
other demons in the tavern, and several of them looked my way.
Sebastian sniffed and then leaned toward
me. “You’ll do as I say. Now, I have no idea why you are here without Erebus,
how you managed to escape his compelment, but I do know that it’s not safe for
you to be alone. I’ll look after you.”
“Until Erebus arrives?”
He sniffed again, grabbed my arm with his
free hand and, whilst still holding me in a tight grip, twisted my wrist.
I gasped as pain shot up my arm.
“I’m not like Erebus,” he said, giving my
arm another sharp twist. “I don’t go all lovesick when I meet a human. I don’t
tolerate disobedience.” He bent his head to my level and stared into my eyes. I
looked away, quietly satisfied that they weren’t black—I wasn’t feeding him
anymore than I did Erebus. “But I’m curious about you. What’s so special that
it’s got him putting you before anything and everything else, huh?”
I cocked my head to the side, my bravado
winning through in a moment when my head was telling me to be quiet. “That’s
for me and him to know. Not you.”
Before I had chance to even recognise that
he had released his tight grip, the hard palm of his hand met my face. I was
knocked sideways and stumbled to the floor.
“Hey!” One of the other demons in the
tavern sprung from his chair and came to my assistance. “What’s your problem?”
“Back off, Cresil.” Sebastian stepped over
to me and bent down. He gripped my chin, and I scrambled to my feet as he
lifted me from the floor. Other demons were showing more interest in the
unfolding events, but I didn’t see any of them as my means to escape.
Sebastian must have also noticed their
attention. “Do any of you know who this is?”
A sickening feeling churned in my stomach.
What would their reaction be when they knew? Erebus had told me that news had
spread about me being intended as a wife for the Master. Was I about to see
what that meant to them?
“Seems Erebus, the mighty demon, can’t
control his wife!”
The pub fell silent. Every demon and
vampire turned my way and greedy sets of darkened eyes and crimson ones
surveyed me.
“Yes.” Sebastian gloated as he twisted my
arm behind my back and forced me to face the shocked and more than interested
demons. “This is the woman who should have been sent to our Master. She was
categorised as a wife for him.”
The demons chatted to each other,
disapproving noises, ones of excitement, whispered words behind raised hands.
But it was hard to tell their overall reaction—it was too mixed. I tensed in
Sebastian’s hold, and swallowed the sour taste in my mouth. What would they do,
what would they say? I shut my eyes to block out the unwanted stares, and
silently screamed for Erebus. I needed him. I wanted him, no one else. Where
was he?
