November is for Novellas Challenge (and NaNoWriMo)

I don't know about you guys, but I always see all the novellas that go with the books or series that I love, and I'll buy one or two of them here or there, but often I never get around to reading them.  So I set aside this November to work on that very thing!  Part of the reason I set this month aside though, is because I really wanted to participate in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) again.  And writing a lot, usually means not a lot of time for reading.  So I figured instead of getting involved with books that would hold my attention for a long time, why not read some of the short novellas and get through them in one sitting or two, instead of 3 days time.  So, for my birthday last month, I asked my sister for a Barnes and Noble gift card so that I could buy a bunch that I'd had my eye on.  You probably noticed that in my last Stacking the Shelves post.  Since I did my September is for Sequels Challenge for the 2nd time this year, I of course came up with a similar name for this one.  And once again, I want to open it up to my followers.  And not only can you participate, you can also enter a contest for participating, just like with my sequels challenge.  All you have to do to participate is set a goal to read at least 4 novellas this month.  Now most novellas seem to come as e-books these days, but sometimes they will print several of them together in a book, or even at the end of one book.  Some examples of this are the Soul Screamers Volumes by Rachel Vincent which include some of the novellas with the actual novels.  Or the Delirium stories by Lauren Oliver, which combined the e-novellas into a short book.  The novellas are usually prequels, or in between stories, usually numbered in the series as 1.5 or 2.5, or 0.5.  So what do you think?  Want to join in?  Just add your name to the linky list below, with a direct link to your post about the challenge with your goals (you can use my image at the top), and then enter with the Rafflecopter below that!  I'll be getting started on mine as soon as I finish my current e-galley, although I believe I have 3 more e-galleys I need to get read this month, so those may have to be fit in as well!

My goal is this:  Read the following novellas:

  1. The Department of Alterations (Crewel 0.5) by Gennifer Albin
  2. The Rain is a Lie (Crewel World) by Gennifer Albin
  3. The Prince (The Selection 0.5) by Kiera Cass
  4. Dead and Gone (Benny Imura 2.5) by Jonathan Maberry
  5. The Moth in the Mirror (Splintered 1.5) by A.G. Howard
  6. What Once We Feared (The Forest of Hands and Teeth 0.4) by Carrie Ryan
  7. Unstrung (Unwind 1.5) by Neal Shusterman
  8. Roar and Live (Under the Never Sky 0.5) by Veronica Rossi
We'll see how far I get!

I will give away a Novella of your choice, most likely an e-book for the winners.  I will have 2 winners for every 10 people that participate in the challenge.
