Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine where we spotlight upcoming releases that we're eagerly awaiting. My choice this week is actually one that I saw on Book Munchie's WOW a few weeks ago. It is by an author that I really enjoyed her first book, Entwined, Heather Dixon. Now that one was a retelling of a fairy tale, but I don't think this one is from the blurb on Goodreads. But I'm still eager to read it, I'm sure in part due to it's beautiful cover. Here is the info:
What if the world holds more dangers—and more wonders—than we have ever known? And what if there is more than one world? From Heather Dixon, author of the acclaimed Entwined, comes a brilliantly conceived adventure that sweeps us from the inner workings of our souls to the far reaches of our imaginations.
Jonathan is perfectly ordinary. But then—as every good adventure begins—the king swoops into port, and Jonathan and his father are enlisted to find the cure to a deadly plague. Jonathan discovers that he's a prodigy at working with a new chemical called fantillium, which creates shared hallucinations—or illusions. And just like that, Jonathan is knocked off his path. Through richly developed parallel worlds, vivid action, a healthy dose of humor, and gorgeous writing, Heather Dixon spins a story that calls to mind The Night Circus and Pixar movies, but is wholly its own.
I'm sure I'll be picking it up as soon as I can. How about you, what are you eagerly anticipating this Wednesday?
This one looks so absolutely gorgeous! What a great pick!

DeleteNot my usual pick, but there is something very magical about it that appeals to me. Thanks for sharing, and here's mine: “THE DREAM LOVER”
ReplyDeleteGlad it does sound appealing! Thanks for visiting!
DeleteThis TRULY is gorgeous and it sounds just as wonderful as it looks! I've never read anything by this author and I'd never heard of this one ^^ but I'll be adding it to my tbr shelf for sure :D Awesome pick, thanks for bringing it to my attention Lisa!
ReplyDeleteGlad you are going to give it a try. I really liked the book Entwined by this author as well.
DeleteI should be reading this one next week. I still don't have any idea what the novel is about. That synopsis gives nothing away. Is it bad if I agreed to read it just based off the cover?
ReplyDeletehere's mine
My $30 giveaway is still going if you're interested.
I've got an e-galley of it, not sure when I have it on my reading calendar, but I tend to keep them in the order of when they're going to be published. Nothing wrong with judging a book by its cover. :-)
DeleteOh, I can't wait for this one! And that cover's amazing. I hope we'll both enjoy it. :) Great pick, and thanks for stopping by my WoW earlier. :)
ReplyDeleteIsn't it just beautiful! Thanks for returning the visit!
DeleteThis looks interesting! Thanks for sharing and for stopping by my WoW!
ReplyDeleteNo problem! Thanks for returning the visit.
DeleteThanks for stopping by my WOW earlier! I love the cover for this one, but I'm not normally a fan of time travel/parallel universe type books. :( Hope you enjoy this one!
ReplyDeleteSandy @ Somewhere Only We Know
I like them if they're done well. And I liked this author's other book, so I hope it will be as good. Thanks for returning the visit!

DeleteI love that cover! First time I found this, it didn't really have a blurb, so I was not so into it, but now... it sounds good, and I think it's going onto my list, too.
