Top 10 of 2016 - Best Book Boyfriend

Welcome to Day 4! Today's topic is best book boyfriend, which is a fun one for me because this year I found my top book boyfriend ever, followed by the runner up for the top one EVER!  This challenge is sponsored by Fiktshun, Tales of a Ravenous Reader, Two Chicks on Books, and Dark Faerie Tales.  If you decide to join in, make sure to sign up at one of their sites on the linky.  Today my choices are in order for the top two, then after that they are just a kind of random order.

Nate Sawyer.  I love this guy.  I loved him so much that I made a tshirt I had to wear to show the author at NOLA Storycon back in October.  I can't imagine ever loving any book boyfriend more than him.

Mal Ericson.  This guy makes me laugh, is so very sexy and attentive to his woman.  Along with the book above, I pick this book up and reread it constantly.  It sits on my bedside table for that exact reason.  While he is hot on this cover, in the book his  hair is probably not my normal preferred style for a guy, and when we meet him in the first book in the series he supposedly has a nose ring, but we never hear about it in this book.  But I'd be okay with it, as much as I love him.  I want to try to make a shirt about  him for when I get to meet the author at Apollycon in March.  So stay tuned for that.

Aelyx, my favorite alien since Daemon Black from the Lux series by JLA.

Still  love Eight Beaufort.

I know, I know, so many of you can't stand the way Reed is in this book, and honestly, I may actually have liked his brother Easton better.  But still.

Jackson and Death.  I love them both.  I wish that Evie could pick Jackson until he dies, since he is mortal, and then she could spend the rest of her time with Death.  But I'm not done with the series, so maybe that will still happen?

Nash Donovan.  Now, I'm not a huge fan of the guy on the cover, and really I love all the Marked Men, but Nash was my favorite in the series, so he gets a spot in the list.

So, while Daemon Black and Roth have both been my JLA book boyfriends, I finally met Seth and Aiden this year.  And, I know he's the bad guy, and I do love Aiden too, but Seth totally wins.  And I think I'm going to get to meet the model for Seth at Apollycon!

I normally don't think about Italian guys, even though I am part Italian, but Marcello definitely won me over.

Okay, technically this didn't come out in 2016, but it was this author's "debut" story, and I read it this year, so I'm counting it.

Top 10 of 2016 Day 1 - Best Books I've Read in 2016

Okay, I'm starting a day late, but post-dating this so it shows up on Monday!  I participated last year, so decided to do this again this year as the year is about to come to a close.  This challenge is sponsored by Fiktshun, Tales of a Ravenous Reader, and Dark Faerie Tales.  If you decide to join in, make sure to sign up at one of their sites on the linky.  

Let's start with my favorite/best books of 2016.  Not all are new, this is just based on what I read this year.  And these are the books that have stayed with me and that I keep thinking about even after I've read them.  I've linked the photos to take you back to my review if you want to check that out.

1.  

I have to pick the whole After series by Anna Todd.  I feel in love with Hardin and Tessa, and still can't put it down if I pick the book up, or stop listening when I start the audiobooks.  

2. 

While this isn't the first in the series, or even the first book that introduced me to Samantha Young, and I did start her books this year, Before Jamaica Lane will be a forever favorite of mine.  My copy of it sits on my coffee table in my living room and I pick it up and re-read bits and pieces of it all the time.  Finding it hard to put down once I pick it up.  Nate Sawyer is my perfect book boyfriend.  He even beat out Daemon Black from the Lux series by JLA.

This is the 2nd book that I read by Alice Clayton this year, but it cemented her as one of my new favorite authors.  And I loved the main character, as well as it totally reinforced my working on having confidence in the figure that I have.  The humor of these characters and stories, as well as the emotions, this book is a good one.  Of course it was the covers that first grabbed my attention, but the story is even better and totally worth the embarrassment of holding it in public.

There was a ton of hype about this throughout the year, and once I started reading it when the ebook went on sale, I was hooked and loved it.  So much that even though I bought the ebooks, I still had to own the paperback copies to put on my shelf.

This is the book that introduced me to Jay Crownover's world of Marked Men.  I decided to try her books before I got the chance to meet her at NOLA StoryCon last October.  And I was hooked.  I'd really started getting into tattooed boys the past few years, and now, let's just say I'm wanting to find out some more about boys with certain types of piercings.  I love this world, and plan to read all of Crownover's books.

I'd been seeing this book around a lot, and when I finally got a copy, specifically to read before I got to meet the author, again at NOLA Storycon, I was hooked.  I loved the Cajun accent of Jack.  I loved him.  As I continued in the series later on, I fell in love with all the books, although I have the little short book and one more to read.

This is a book I read just a few weeks ago.  And it really blew me away.  I compare it to Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher in how it really grabbed me.

I loved this reimagining of the true Dracula story, where Dracula was a girl.  I know it has a bit of mixed reviews, but I loved it, and can't wait for the sequel!

So, this is a book that totally helped me with my thoughts about writing a New Adult romance book for NaNoWriMo this year.  I loved the whole story, it had great sexy scenes, definite emotional bits, and was just an all around good story.

This book was hilarious!  But it also had bits that made me cry.  When I went to do my review and picked it up to find a certain bit, I was sucked right back in and wanted to just re-read the whole thing.  I look forward to more books from this debut author!

Notice that for a change, this year most of my top books are adult or new adult, whereas last year they were mostly YA.
