Swoon Thursday #3: Redux (Tricksters #2) by A.L. Davroe

This keeps popping up on other blogs and I always want to do it, but run out of time or forget to mark the spot in the book where the quote is so that I can go back and share it. Today though, the book that I'm reviewing tomorrow as part of a blog tour had the best quote as part of a pre-made teaser.  So I'm going to share that.
  • From the book you’re currently reading, or one you just finished, tell us what made you SWOON. What got your heart pounding, your skin tingling, and your stomach fluttering
  • Try to make the swoon excerpt 140 characters (or less), if you are going to tweet about it. Use the hashtag #YABOUND when tweeting

The domed city of Evanescence is in ruins. With nowhere to go, prodigy hacker Ellani “Ella” Drexel and a small band of survivors flee to the Undertunnel below their city.

To escape the wasteland she unknowingly created.

But sanctuary is hard to find. With malfunctioning androids and angry rebels at their backs, the group hopes to press on for the neighboring city of Cadence. But Ella’s chosen path is challenging…life-threatening, even. Worse, the boy she loves is acting distant, and not at all like the person she first met in Nexis.

But then Ella learns a secret…and it changes everything.

Ella knows she needs to turn back and make a stand to reclaim her home. She’s determined to bring a new—and better—life to all who’ve suffered.

Or die trying.

You'll have to guess who says it.  I'll be posting my full review right here tomorrow!

Swoon Thursday #2 - Play (Stage Dive #2) by Kylie Scott

I hadn't planned to participate this week, but then, I fell in love with the book I just finished, and it was because of my newest book boyfriend, Mal Ericson.   First, here is how this works:

  • From the book you’re currently reading, or one you just finished, tell us what made you SWOON. What got your heart pounding, your skin tingling, and your stomach fluttering
  • Try to make the swoon excerpt 140 characters (or less), if you are going to tweet about it. Use the hashtag #YABOUND when tweeting
Mal just made me laugh so much.  And really, some of what he says is maybe not "swoon-worthy" to some people. But, to me, it is so real, I mean I have known guys who said or did similar things to him.  I've picked one of the first silly, funny things that he said in the book, and warning, there is some foul language in, but I can't help it.  I love him.  I may have to share some other quotes on other weeks, if I don't meet another swoony boy before then.

Kylie Scott returns with the highly anticipated follow-up to international bestseller Lick.

Mal Ericson, drummer for the world famous rock band Stage Dive, needs to clean up his image fast—at least for a little while. Having a good girl on his arm should do the job just fine. Mal doesn't plan on this temporary fix becoming permanent, but he didn't count on finding the one right girl.

Anne Rollins never thought she'd ever meet the rock god who plastered her teenage bedroom walls—especially not under these circumstances. Anne has money problems. Big ones. But being paid to play the pretend girlfriend to a wild life-of-the-party drummer couldn't end well. No matter how hot he is. Or could it?

Mal chuckled some more.  "Anyways, things are tight between me and Anne.  I may as well stay."

The brunette turned her glare up to high beam.  My look was probably more confused.  Maybe he meant another Anne.  One that had a clue what the hell he was talking about.

"Your girl doesn't mind watching some chick crawling all over you?"  Ben gave me a raised brow.  "I need a girlfriend like that."

"Ah, fuck.  Good point.  Honestly, this whole monogamy thing.  It takes so much getting used to, man."  Mal set the distinctly cranky brunette away from him, the muscles in his arms flexing.  He deposited her gently back down on the floor.  "Apologies.  I'm sure you're very nice and all but my heart beats only for Anne."

The brunette threw a withering glance my way, flicked her hair, and turned to leave.  Ignoring her huffing, Ben caught the girl around the waist, pulling her onto his lap.  The girl's transfer of affections took all of a millisecond.  To be fair, Ben was a big burly guy.  Few would say no.

Mal threw himself at my feet.  I scuttled back in my chair in surprise.

"Forgive me, Anne!  I didn't mean to stray."

Swoon Thursday #1 - Before Jamaica Lane (On Dublin Street #3) by Samantha Young

I've been wanting to participate in this for awhile, especially with all the definitely swoon-worthy books I've been reading lately.  Here is how it works:

  • From the book you’re currently reading, or one you just finished, tell us what made you SWOON. What got your heart pounding, your skin tingling, and your stomach fluttering
  • Try to make the swoon excerpt 140 characters (or less), if you are going to tweet about it. Use the hashtag #YABOUND when tweeting
So, this week I'm going to make my swoon from the book that I think will have my forever and ever all time boyfriend, Before Jamaica Lane (On Dublin Street #3) by Samantha Young.  I could go oh so sexy with a swoon moment from him, but I'll go with one from early in the book.

Despite her outgoing demeanor, Olivia is painfully insecure around the opposite sex—usually, she can’t get up the nerve to approach guys she’s interested in. But moving to Edinburgh has given her a new start, and, after she develops a crush on a sexy postgrad, she decides it’s time to push past her fears and go after what she wants.

Nate Sawyer is a gorgeous player who never commits, but to his close friends, he’s as loyal as they come. So when Olivia turns to him with her relationship woes, he offers to instruct her in the art of flirting and to help her become more sexually confident.

The friendly education in seduction soon grows into an intense and hot romance. But then Nate’s past and commitment issues rear their ugly heads, and Olivia is left brokenhearted. When Nate realizes he’s made the biggest mistake of his life, he will have to work harder than he ever has before to entice his best friend into falling back in love with him—or he may lose her forever….

    "Okay.  Next."
I blinked in confusion again.  "Next?"
     "The supposed fat arse?"
The touch of Nate's hand on my ass caused me to jump about ten feet, but he didn't let go, smoothing his hand over my butt and giving it a gentle squeeze.
Whoa, okay, then.
My skin was prickling and there was a suspicious fullness in my breasts and lower belly that I adamantly tried to ignore.
"Not fat."  Nate leaned close to my ear, speaking in a low voice that did nothing to abate the physical response in my body.  "Curvy.  And I'll let you in on a secret:  There are still men out there that like a woman to be soft under their hands, to have curves, hips, tits, and arse."  He tapped my butt gently with the palm of his hand.  "Its a good arse, babe.  I don't want to hear you refer to it as anything else."

Nate is such a sweetie, starting as Olivia's friend, helping her feel more confident about herself, all the way to where he helps her feel more confident sexually as well!  I love this story, I love Nate.  I love all of Samantha Young's books that I've read so far, but Nate will always be my favorite.
