FLYLeF's 2nd Anniversary Celebration and Giveaway

FLYLēF turns 2! To celebrate, an amazing group of bloggers and I have planned posts for you to enjoy, all centered around the theme...

FRIENDSHIP

Please make sure to visit them, and perhaps make a new friend along the way.

 FRIENDSHIP

Friendship comes in all shapes and sizes.  And these days, with the internet and social media, a friend can even be someone you've never actually met in person.  I feel like I have made so many friends through blogging, and so when I do get a chance to meet them in person, it is even cooler!  I have so many fellow bloggers that stop by and visit me all the time, and I try to make sure to get back to them as well! Then there are those bloggers I follow by email and make sure to try to comment on their blogs when I get a chance as well.  Every year I blog I meet more and more great people as I find new bloggers as well as running across the blogs of those that have been around awhile.

Along with bloggers, I feel that I have been able to form friendships with authors through blogging as well. One of the first authors I feel that I really became friends with was Cara Lynn Shultz, author of Spellbound, Spellcaster, and The Dark World.  We bonded on Twitter over favorite songs, movies, and tv shows. When I went to NYC to visit my sister for the first time back in 2011, she followed my travels as I did the touristy thing, and then when I asked if she might want to meet up with me somewhere, I got the chance to hang out with her and I feel make a new friend.  Recently I feel there's another author that I've become friends with, Nicole Archer, author of Road-Tripped and Head-Tripped.  Again, I "met" her through blogging by reviewing her book and then just really communicating through Facebook with her.  I hope one day to get to meet her in person.

 TESTIMONIAL

I "met" Lonna fro FlyLef last year when I found the Comment Challenge that she hosted along with Alicia from A Kernel of Nonsense blog.  Through that wonderful challenge, I've made many other blogger friends, people I might not have found without participating in this challenge.

Winter 2017 Comment Challenge March Sign-Up Post

I ended up taking February off from this challenge due to a full calendar and what just seemed like I forgot to sign up!  So when I got signed up this time, I decided to bump my number of goal posts down to just 5+ instead of the 10+ I had been doing.  I may still get up to 10 or more, I just want to make sure I'm not putting myself under too much stress to get everything done.  This fun challenge is hosted by Lonna @FLYLēF and Alicia @ A Kernel of Nonsense.   It's a way to increase comment activity on your own blog, as well as meet some new bloggers and help them out!  Here are the details:

  • This challenge will run January through March.
  • You are welcome to sign up for one, two, or all three months (a sign-up post will go up a month in advance for each month and will be open for three weeks).
  • Bloggers will be paired up for one month and will be required to comment on each other’s blog posts.
  • If you sign up for more than one month, you will have a different comment partner each month.
  • To allow a bit of freedom, you will be able to choose how often you would like to comment on your partner’s blog (options include 5-10 or 11-20 posts).
  • Social Media Option: If you’d like to give your partner further encouragement through social media, we will do our best to connect you with bloggers who are active on the same platforms.
  • Giveaway: at the end of March, we will be giving away two bookish prizes. Please note: this giveaway will only be open to participants.
Obviously it is a little late to sign up for the Winter Challenge, but I'm assuming/hoping there will be another one this summer!  For March I've been paired up with Vedika at Poems and Poets.  As I figured out last summer, I really need to mark it down in my calendar to make sure how many times I comment.  5 times means once a week for sure!  Although I'm going to try to do at least twice a week as much as possible.

Winter 2017 Comment Challenge Sign-Up

I really enjoyed participating in this over the summer, it helped me meet some great new bloggers! So in order to help myself continue meeting more bloggers and make myself keep getting out there and commenting on other blogs like I hope other people will comment on mine, I've signed up once again to participate in this Challenge hosted by Lonna @ FLYLēF and Alicia @ A Kernel of Nonsense.  If you didn’t sign-up for January, but would like to participate in February, look for the sign-up post to go up on January 2nd. Sign-ups are open until January 26th. Let’s start the new year off by spreading lots of comment love and make meaningful connections with other book bloggers.

Summer 2016 Comment Challenge August Sign-Up Post

So July is only halfway through, but so far I'm enjoying getting to know my comment partner this month, Peyton @ A Bookish Mess.   I thought I'd sign up earlier this month so that those of you who wished you'd known sooner for the past few months will still have time to sign up for August.  This fun challenge is hosted by Lonna @FLYLēF and Alicia @ A Kernel of Nonsense.   It's a way to increase comment activity on your own blog, as well as meet some new bloggers and help them out!  Here are the details:
  • Bloggers will be paired up for one month and will be required to comment on each other’s blog posts.
  • Giveaway: at the end of August, we will be giving away two bookish prizes. Please note: this giveaway will only be open to participants.
If you're interested in participating this last month, go HERE to sign up!  I plan to sign up for 11-20 again.  This month I decided to keep track of how many times I actually commented so I would know if I made my goal, since I didn't remember to in June.

Summer 2016 Comment Challenge July Sign-Up Post

I had a great time last month commenting back and forth with Anne from My Head is Full of Books.  Both of us being high school librarians was a really neat coincidence and gave us lots to talk about!  This fun challenge is hosted by Lonna @FLYLēF and Alicia @ A Kernel of Nonsense.   It's a way to increase comment activity on your own blog, as well as meet some new bloggers and help them out!  Here are the details:

  • This challenge will run June through August.
  • Giveaway: at the end of August, we will be giving away two bookish prizes. Please note: this giveaway will only be open to participants.
Now it's too late to sign up for the July challenge, but you can still sign up for the August one pretty soon.  For July I've been paired up with Peyton @ A Bookish Mess.   I'm looking forward to getting to know her better and commenting on her posts.  I signed up again for the 11-20 posts, that's just basically 3 a week,  which should be no problem!  Now I'm wondering how many times I ended up commenting this June.  Hmm.

Summer 2016 Comment Challenge Sign-Up Post

http://reviews.flylef.com/2016/05/cc-06-signup.html

So I recently saw this challenge and thought it sounded like the perfect one to help me with my goals about commenting this summer.  It's hosted by Lonna @FLYLēF and Alicia @ A Kernel of Nonsense.   It's a way to increase comment activity on your own blog, as well as meet some new bloggers and help them out!  Here are the details:
  • This challenge will run June through August.
  • Giveaway: at the end of August, we will be giving away two bookish prizes. Please note: this giveaway will only be open to participants.
Today is the last day to sign up for June, but you could still sign up for July and August I think.  I'm signing up to do all three months, and to do 11-20 posts, as that is about one comment a day.  And I want to start being better about always commenting on people's blogs!   If this sounds interesting to you, click the button at the top of this post to go to the sign up page!
