September is for Sequels Giveaway Hop Sign-up

For my 4th annual September is for Sequels Challenge, which I'll post the sign-ups for tomorrow morning,  I'm once again hosting a September is for Sequels Giveaway Hop at the beginning of the month.  This is a sign up for the giveaway hop, but if you want to join in the Challenge as well, you can go HERE.

You see, I noticed four years ago that I had a bunch of sequels to books that I'd been allowed to read the first book as an ARC or e-galley, and then just hadn't time to read the sequels due to reading more first in the series books. So I set a goal for myself of reading sequels in September, and you can sign up to join into the Challenge HERE.  Now, the idea of September wasn't actually mine, I got it from Em's Book Reviews.  So for the Giveaway, these are the rules if you want to join:

  • The book must be a sequel in a series, can't be the first one, but it can be any number from 2 on.  It doesn't matter if you  offer a physical copy or an e-book, as long as it is part of a series.
  • Your giveaway post must include the hop image and link-up, or at least a link to my site if you can't get the link-up to work.
  • Please only 1 mandatory entry.  All the others must be optional. Try to keep the list of entries under 10 as much as possible.
  • Your post must be live by 12:01 EST on September 1st (That is 9 pm August 31st if you live in California).
  • Please include September is for Sequels in your title, and the giveaway must be for this Hop exclusively.
  • It is your responsibility to check the link-up on September 1st to be sure you are still on the list and that your link is accurate. Please send me a direct link to your post when it goes live at LisaLovesLiterature@yahoo.com.
  • If you are using Rafflecopter set it to begin on August 31st and to end on September 9th, 12:01 AM.
To sign up to host a giveaway add your blog to the link-up. Please include your shipping info in parenthesis following your blog name (US) (US/Can) (INT).

September is for Sequels Giveaway Hop Sign-ups

For my 3rd annual September is for Sequels Challenge, which I'll post the sign-ups for later this week, I'm once again co-hosting a September is for Sequels Giveaway Hop with Kathy from I Am A Reader.  I think I fixed the button problem for the challenge this year, it should be a better size this time.

You see, I noticed two years ago that I had a bunch of sequels to books that I'd been allowed to read the first book as an ARC or e-galley, and then just hadn't time to read the sequels due to reading more first in the series books. • Your giveaway post must include the hop image and linky, or at least a link to one of the hosts' sites if you can't get the linky to work.
  • Please only 1 mandatory entry.  All the others must be optional.  Try not to have a huge list, probably no more than 5 or 6 entries possible.
  • Your post must be live by 12:01 EST on September 2nd (That is 9 pm September 1st if you live in California).
  • Please include September is for Sequels in your title, and the giveaway must be for this Hop exclusively.
  • Your site must be family friendly – no erotica or 18+ sites. Your site & giveaway must be free of steamy images and book covers. If it would embarrass me to have my teenagers see it, it can’t be on your site.
  • It is your responsibility to check the linky on September 2nd to be sure you are still on the linky and that your link is accurate. Please send Lisa a direct link to your post when it goes live to buffywnabe@gmail.com.
  • If you are using Rafflecopter set it to begin on September 1st and to end on September 10th, 12:01 AM.

September is for Sequels Giveaway Hop Sign Ups

In honor of my September is for Sequels Challenge, I asked Kathy from I Am a Reader, Not a Writer if she'd be willing to co-host a giveaway with me during the challenge.  And I was happy that she agreed!  Now, sorry that my button is a bit small, but I'm new at making them.  If I have time I may go back and do some re-editing of it before we actually get started.

YA Mythology Giveaway Hop

I don't know about you, but I've been a fan of myths since I was in middle school probably.  And really, I think most people were at that age.  As a teacher, I remember the years when the 7th grade Social Studies teachers did Greek and Roman history, and so the kids always seemed to really enjoy that unit.  In Science class I even pulled it in by having my students write their own myths about different science topics we'd studied that year, or ones we hadn't studied yet so that they didn't know exactly why those things happened. Also as a teacher, I've seen books like The Lightning Thief draw in kids who didn't like to read, and turn them into kids who then begged their parents to buy them an e-reader, and what I loved the most, getting phone calls from their parents, or talking to the parents at conferences, and having them thank me for getting their kid to read.  That's what I love, seeing a kid fall in love with reading, and be so excited to come talk to me about what they'd just read.  That's why I decided to be a librarian, and why I refuse to give up on my dream to finally use the Master's Degree I earned in Library Science and be a School Librarian, even though I get rejection after rejection it seems when I interview.
Anyways, enough about me.  Below I'm going to put some of my favorite mythology books, and you can pick which one you want.  If it is a series, and I only picture one, you may pick any one in the series.  And this is open internationally if The Book Depository ships to your country. (Check here to see if you're unsure.)
