Feature and Follow Friday #8 2013

Feature and Follow Friday is sponsored by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.  The purpose of this event is to learn about the two featured bloggers each week, as well as to increase your own blog following by joining in on the fun! This week's question/activity is:

Book Vacay: Where is the best destination reading spot for you? (Where do you like to go to read other then your home)

I actually can read anywhere, so it doesn't matter to me.  The beach isn't always nice because of getting sand everywhere.  And right now, until I lose weight, I'm not going to be caught dead in a swimsuit anyway, so no pool either.  Now when I'm eating by myself, which is a lot since I live alone, I like to read.  And sometimes the puppies bother me, bark at me, beg for food, etc.  So I often like to take my book and go eat out, even just a cheap fast food, or a Panera, just to be able to get out and read in peace.  One thing I liked when I visited my sister in NYC is that it is pretty normal for people to eat out by themselves and be reading, and I didn't feel as weird doing that there, as I do sometimes here in Kansas City.

What about you, where is your destination reading spot?

I prefer a GFC or Bloglovin' follow, but any way you choose is fine with me!  And while you're here, make sure to enter my Reading Road Trip giveaway HERE.

  2. I'm always reading while I eat. I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have a book with my food. LOL. And I'm only a fan of the beach if I can have huge beach umbrella hovering above me. :) The sand isn't so bad as long as there's a lounge chair.

  6. Heh, I can't eat and do anything else at the same time, lol. Not even eat and watch TV, which is I believe almost and universal skill, lol. But I would go for coffee or some drinks somewhere and read, if it's a place I like :D

    Have a great weekend!

  8. I love taking my book out to read in restaurants! It's great company if I'm eating by myself, or at the very least a good conversation starter.

  10. I just have to stay away from ice cream when I'm reading. I can easily finish off a container with a good book in hand LOL. Happy Friday! Old bloglovin follower.

    1. Yeah, I know they say not to do anything but eat so that you make sure you are full and don't overeat, but I can't help myself! And yeah, I hate the whole sand thing at the beach. Thanks for stopping by!

    1. I've been to Central Park when I was there, but the first time was just walking around to see it with my sister. The 2nd time I was walking on one of the roads that cuts straight through it so I could go to the museums, so didn't have a book with me then. If I ever go visit her again, I will have to go sit and read at the park! Thanks for stopping by!

    1. You see people reading everywhere in NYC. On the subway even! I couldn't, I get motion sickness. But it was great to see. And then book advertisements on the subway and buses. Thanks for stopping by!
