Excerpt:

*Will*
When I saw how spotless the shared living space was, I allowed my curiosity to get the better of me and peeked my head into her bathroom, Rocky dancing around my feet as I entered the space. The counters were covered in woman-products, but the marble surface and sink were free of water spots, and the glass of the shower had been wiped clean.

I glanced at Rocky. He glanced at me. Bemused, I chuckled to myself, about to turn back to the door, and that’s when I spotted it.

A dildo.

A big, Pyrex dildo.

With ridges.

In the shower.

I froze, blinked, and I stared at it, my brain sluggish. Oddly, I had to remind myself to breathe. Likely because I was . . .

I was—

I was shocked.

I shook myself, tearing my eyes from it and rubbing my chest where an odd kind of pang was spreading mild warmth up my neck.

But why was I shocked?

Why should I be surprised?

Despite my never seeing her that way, Josey was a woman and women have needs.

Don’t they?

I hadn’t grown up around women—any women. My mother died when she had my youngest brother. My grandmother died before I was born. I had no sisters. We lived on a farm, way out in BFN Oklahoma.

Girls—women—and their bodies were sacred lands of the unknown to us Moore boys.

Unbidden—completely unbidden—an image of Josey flashed through my mind’s eye. Her full lips parted, her big eyes closed, causing her thick black lashes to catch droplets of water before they dripped over her sharp cheekbones. Her head would be lolled back as shower spray melted bubbles of slippery soap, sliding down her bare skin as they dissolved. Her legs would be parted, and maybe one hand would be braced against the wall of the shower while the other moved in a steady rhythm.

Holding that huge, glass dildo.

I swallowed a sudden rush of salvia and, unable to help myself, I leaned closer to the sex toy, examining it and comparing its size against my own.

I was bigger.

But not by much.

And for some reason, this realization made me instantly hard.

Crap.

Of course I knew Josey was a woman, but until this moment, I’d never really thought of her that way. Not even the tampon-mountain drove the point home. Up until this point, she was someone I liked as a person, someone who made me laugh, who was smart and compassionate, someone around whom I felt completely comfortable. A good—no, a great companion.

She was still all of those things, except—

Except now I’ve pictured her naked.

Book Tour with Giveaway: Tempting Irish (Wild Irish #2) by C.M. Seabrook

Tempting Irish
Wild Irish Book 2
by C.M. Seabrook
Genre: New Adult Romance

One rock god. One girl from his past. One ocean that can't keep them apart.

I've been in love with Owen Gallagher since I was twelve years old. Before the world knew his name.

Even though it's been years since I've been back to Ireland, I never forgot my Irish crush. The boy who saved me from his bully of a brother is now a dark, sexy, tattooed rock star who shreds the guitar like a true master.

A night of anonymity.

One night to live my forbidden fantasies.

He'll be furious when he finds out my true identity. But I'm not the same, shy little girl he remembers, and I have every intention of tempting my own Wild Irish.

Dreaming about a rock god is one thing, but I'm chasing that dream across an ocean.

I’m going to hell.

I didn’t bring her here for this.  Didn’t mean to kiss her. To touch her. But now that I am, I can’t stop. My mouth travels down the curve of her jaw, along her slender neck, breathing in her intoxicating scent.

I try to reel myself back. But her own need saturates the air around us, mixing with mine like a spark to a powder keg.

I want the girl.

Crave her.

I’ve already had a taste and it only increased my appetite. But if there was ever a definition of off limits, it’s her.

I don’t need a complication like Bree in my life. And that’s exactly what she is – a sweet, tempting, irresistible complication.

“Jeezus, Bree,” I growl, raking my teeth across the sensitive flesh below her ear and feeling her tremble against me. “What are ye doing to me?”

She lets out a whimper when I tug slightly at her hair.

“You said-”

“Forget what I said.” I cup her jaw, searching her face, seeing uncertainty and desire vacillating across her features.

She’s unhinged something inside of me. That primal instinct to possess and protect. And hell, if it doesn’t scare the shit out of me. But, I also know that if I don’t see where this can go, I’ll regret it for the rest of my life.

Amazon bestselling author C.M. Seabrook writes hot, steamy romances with possessive bad boys, and the passionate, fiery women who love them. Swoonworthy romances from the heart!

Two New Adult Romance Mini-Reviews: Free E-books by Vanessa Waltz

First off, I'm not quite sure how I got lucky enough to be on an list for this author in order to get these two to review.  I chose the one called The Cinderella Arrangement to read first because it sounded more like my type of read, as opposed to the other one called Dirty Prince.  And honestly, I think I might now be a fan of these "naughty prince" type of stories.  I remember reading one a few months back that didn't really grab me.  But let me tell you, Dirty Prince was so good!  Okay, so I'll do two mini-reviews for each one down below.

The Cinderella Arrangement:
My rating:  3 stars

Honestly I ended up a bit disappointed with this one.  It definitely started out pretty well, and I liked the idea behind it, but there was just something about the hero that I didn't like, or rather he just didn't quite win me over.  It seemed to be a pretty short story.  The writing was kind of simple, not bad, just not anything very fancy or unique.  I did enjoy it though, it was a quick read, and one that I kept going and had trouble stopping when I had to go back to work because it kept you wanting to know how certain things would be handled.  Here is the blurb from Goodreads:

Fake Cinderella. Real Romance.
Luke Pardini is many things: playboy, tabloid fodder, ridiculously attractive billionaire. He’s the Prince Charming every woman dreams of.

And he wants me to be his fake girlfriend.

I don't want a relationship, even a make-believe one, but I do need the money. Writing isn't paying the bills, and I hardly have time for a second job, let alone a romance. But he's offering me a dream-come true.

I'll get the fancy dresses, the formal dinners, the full Luke Pardini experience. I get to be Cinderella for a few weeks, then I'll trade in the shoes. No problem, right?

Except I don’t have to pretend when he touches me, but he’s made it clear I only get to play his girlfriend for a few weeks. When midnight strikes, our Cinderella Arrangement is over.

He promised the arrangement would be simple.

I promised I wouldn’t fall in love.

Dirty Prince (A Royal Romance):
My rating:  5 stars

Okay, this book, this book was a HOLY  COW kind of read.  I had finished Royally Screwed by Emma Chase about a week before this, and had really enjoyed it as well.  It gave me the go ahead to try this one, even though as I mentioned at the beginning of this post, I'd never really enjoyed, or thought that I enjoyed, this kind of story.  And honestly, at the beginning of this one, especially the first scene where Daisy actually sees Prince Liam in person and meets him, I did not like him at all.  He was an ass.  But once we got the chapters from his side of the story as well, I began to like him better.  The sex was really hot in this one, even the one scene that I don't know is something I ever want to try had a quality to it that definitely left me a bit flushed.  And just when the book seemed as if the big drama had happened and it was time for the HEA, there was a HUGE twist!  I love when an author does that in a story.  The only thing I'd have to say that I didn't like about this, is a very shallow thing.  While the guy on the cover is definitely attractive, he really doesn't fit the dirty, cocky, snarky type of guy that Prince Liam is portrayed as.  Other than that small thing, I highly recommend this one, and hope to read more like it from this author in the future.  Here is its blurb from Goodreads:

He may not be very charming, but I prefer my prince…dirty.

You’ve read the tabloids. They call Prince Liam the Dirty Prince. I met him. I slapped him. It was hate at first sight, and, believe me, he's even filthier than they say. How do I know?

I married him.

The closest I ever got to a castle back home was in a mouse’s theme park. Now I’m a princess stuck in the world’s naughtiest fairy tale.

Liam expects me to act like a princess, but the Dirty Prince doesn't get to teach ME how to behave. I'd love to catch the first pumpkin carriage out of this kingdom, but Liam’s giving me more happy ever afters than I ever thought possible. And what's even worse? I think his smart mouth and cocky attitude might be growing on me.

But just when I think I might be falling for my prince, fate intervenes. Our Once Upon a Time may be over.

But what if I’m not ready for this fairy tale to end?

Book Blitz and Giveaway: Still Love You by Allie Everhart

Book info:
Title:   Still Love You
Author:  Allie Everhart
Publication date: February 14th, 2017
Genres: New Adult, Romance
*A Standalone New Adult Romance.*
Silas Sparks was my first love. My only love. The guy I thought I would marry, and almost did.
We were engaged. For a week. In high school. It was the happiest week of my life. But then reality hit and I broke off the engagement. I was only 17. I couldn’t get married! I had plans for my life. Plans that included college and someday running a large corporation.
Silas was crushed. He couldn’t understand why I did it. But that’s Silas. He lives in the moment, never worries about the future. After we broke up, he took off for Europe and never came back.
That was two years ago. I haven’t seen or talked to him since. Then just as I’m about to leave college for summer break, guess who shows up at my door? Looking even hotter than I remember, flashing that sexy smile of his, telling me he’s home for the summer, living just a few houses down from mine!
Now I’m panicking. I was never supposed to see him again. Silas is the past. I’ve moved on. And yet here he is, and all I can think about is how much I want him back. It can never happen, but even so, I can’t deny the truth. And the truth is…I still love Silas.

EXCERPT:
Silas

“Why were you flirting with her?” Willow asks. “You don’t live here. It’s not like you could date her.”
“I wasn’t flirting. I was just giving her my order.” I stretch my legs out under the table, letting them brush against Willow’s.
She crosses her legs and turns to me. “You were giving her the Silas smile. No girl can resist that and you know it. You were definitely flirting.”
“Why do you care?” I nudge her leg with mine and keep it there. I know I shouldn’t keep touching her but I can’t help it. I haven’t seen her forever and now that she’s here, I have this need to touch her, even in just an innocent way. I’m a very tactile person. Touch is a way I communicate, sometimes without even knowing it.
“I don’t care,” she says in a tone that implies the opposite. “Do what you want. I just don’t think you should flirt with some girl you have no intention of asking out. You’re leading her on.”
“A person can flirt without having it go anywhere.”
“Then what’s the purpose?”
Typical Willow logic at work. She has to have an answer to everything. An answer that makes sense to her.
“There doesn’t have to be a purpose.” I know that comment will get her going, but I put it out there anyway.
“Of course there does. You can’t just do something for no reason.”
“Fine.” I lean across the table and give her that Silas smile she was referring to. “I flirted with her so she’d get your order correct. I’m sure they’re not used to having to follow such specific guidelines for making a burger. I was just making sure they got it right.”
She sighs. “I appreciate your efforts but you don’t have to resort to selling your body just to get my order correct.”
I laugh and sit back. “I wasn’t selling my body. It was just a smile.”
“I think that girl would like more than that.” Willow holds up the receipt, which has a phone number written on back with the words ‘call me.’
“Huh. I wondered what she wrote on there.” I take the receipt and shove it in my pocket.
“You’re keeping it?” Willow looks disgusted with me.
I shrug. “You never know.”
“Never know what?”
Before I can answer, our food arrives, delivered by a short, scrawny kid who doesn’t look legally old enough to work. He’s probably the little brother of the girl at the register. They look similar.
“Wait.” Willow stops him before he leaves. “Could you get us another cup for the milkshake? And another straw?”
He nods and walks off.
I set the basket of fries between us as Willow inspects her burger, lifting the top of the bun.
“Is it the way you wanted it?” I ask.
“Yes. It’s perfect.” She puts the bun back in place. “But your flirting trick didn’t completely work. She forgot the cup and the straw.”
“That’s because you asked for that, not me.” I smile, then take a big bite of my burger.
“Whatever,” she mumbles, picking up a fry.
She eats fries one at a time, whereas I grab several and eat them all at once. That’s why we always shared an order. It would take Willow forever to finish a basket of fries on her own, eating them one at a time like that.
I wonder if she shares her fries when she goes out with other guys. I try not to think about that. Thinking about her with another guy makes me angry and I never get angry. Except when it comes to Willow. She brings out all my emotions. The good, the bad, the in-between. This girl gets to me the way no one else can.
When I left two years ago, I wasn’t sure I’d ever see her again, and now, working for her parents, I’ll see her every day.
This is going to be a very interesting summer.

Three Audiobook Mini-Reviews

As I mentioned last month, I'm totally behind on reviews.  So, once again I'm going to do some mini-reviews, this time three audiobooks, and while two of them are new adult/contemporary romance, the other is YA science fiction.  I'll do the YA one first, so that if you're not interested in the other two, then you can be done after that.  As usual, I'll give you my rating, my thoughts, and then the blurb from Goodreads.

United (Alienated #3) by Melissa Landers:
My rating:  5 stars
I totally loved the first two in the series, and while at first I had a bit of trouble maybe getting into this one, by the end I was loving it just as much, and I really like the way it ended.  The narrator on this audiobook sounded a little different than she did on the first two.  Not sure why.  And then she also kept pausing in spots that didn't make sense to pause, and then not pausing when she really should have.  But other than those narrating issues, I was glad to be back and see how Cara and Aelyx's story would end, would it be an HEA?  If you haven't read the first two, you can go read my reviews of them here, Book 1 and Book 2.  Here's the blurb from Goodreads:

After thwarting a deadly coup and saving the alliance between their worlds, Cara and Aelyx have finally earned a break. Their tiny island colony is everything they dreamed it would be―days spent gathering shells on the beach and nights in each other’s arms.

But the vacation is short-lived.

The treaty between Earth and L’eihr has awakened an ancient force that threatens to destroy them all. The Aribol, mysterious guardians charged with maintaining interstellar peace, deem the alliance a threat to the galaxy. They order a separation of the races, decreeing humans and L’eihrs must return to their own planets within the month or face extinction. In fact, they already have agents in place on Earth, ready to begin.

With the clock ticking, Aelyx and Cara assemble a team of colonists and race back to Earth, where they unite with old friends to solve the mystery of who the Aribol are, what they want, and the real reason the alliance has provoked them. As tensions build to a full-scale war, Aelyx and Cara must fight harder than ever―not just for their future, but for the survival of both their worlds.

Letting Go (Thatch #1) by Molly McAdams:
My rating:  4 stars
This book had me constantly leaving status updates on Goodreads as I read it.  I loved Jagger and Grey, but I did NOT like Jagger's sister Charlie.  There were also so many times that I wanted to cry in this.  While there was the one aspect that is always in stories that annoys me, even though I know, I know, it's part of what helps with the dram and suspense.  I hate  how people don't tell the important person whatever some secret is that will upset them, because really it's a pretty stupid reason why they don't.  And if they would just do it right away, they wouldn't probably have some of the problems.  But as I said, drama.  A great book otherwise!  Here's the blurb from Goodreads:

Grey and Ben fell in love at thirteen and believed they’d be together forever. But three days before their wedding, the twenty-year-old groom-to-be suddenly died from an unknown heart condition, destroying his would-be-bride’s world. If it hadn’t been for their best friend, Jagger, Grey never would have made it through those last two years to graduation. He’s the only one who understands her pain, the only one who knows what it’s like to force yourself to keep moving when your dreams are shattered. Jagger swears he’ll always be there for her, but no one has ever been able to hold on to him. He’s not the kind of guy to settle down.

It’s true that no one has ever been able to keep Jagger—because he’s only ever belonged to Grey. While everyone else worries over Grey’s fragility, he’s the only one who sees her strength. Yet as much as he wants Grey, he knows her heart will always be with Ben. Still they can’t deny the heat that is growing between them—a passion that soon becomes too hot to handle. But admitting their feelings for each other means they’ve got to face the past. Is being together what Ben would have wanted . . . or a betrayal of his memory that will eventually destroy them both?

Roman Crazy by Alice Clayton and Nina Bocci:
My rating:  5 stars
I love Alice Clayton, but the synopsis of this book didn't grab me at first.  I don't always get into books about divorced women, as I'm single and never been married. They don't really speak to me because I don't identify with them. But, this story.  This Italian hunk, Marcello.  I've never been one to lust after Italian men, even though my dad's side of the family is very proud of their Italian heritage.  But now, well now I want my own Marcello.  My only gripe is one that I've had with some of Clayton's other books, the beginning is so much description of the place and other things, that it often really takes me a bit to get into it.  But it was totally worth the pay off, as her books always tend to be!  Here is the blurb from Goodreads:

Avery Bardot steps off the plane in Rome, looking for a fresh start. She’s left behind a soon-to-be ex-husband in Boston and plans to spend the summer with her best friend Daisy, licking her wounds—and perhaps a gelato or two. But when her American-expat friend throws her a welcome party on her first night, Avery’s thrown for a loop when she sees a man she never thought she’d see again: Italian architect Marcello Bianchi.

Marcello was the man—the one who got away. And now her past is colliding with her present, a present where she should be mourning the loss of her marriage and—hey, that fettuccine is delicious! And so is Marcello…

Slipping easily into the good life of summertime in Rome, Avery spends her days exploring a city that makes art historians swoon, and her nights swooning over her unexpected what was old is new again romance. It’s heady, it’s fevered, it’s wanton, and it’s crazy. But could this really be her new life? Or is it just a temporary reprieve before returning to the land of twin-set cardigans and crustless sandwiches?

A celebration of great friendship, passionate romance, and wonderful food, Roman Crazy is a lighthearted story of second chances and living life to the fullest.

Three great audiobooks, ones that kept me listening!  I've still got another four, plus one I'm listening to currently that I'm almost done with to review.  But this gets these done!

Review: Prude by Jordan S. Gray

Book info:
TitlePrude
Author:  Jordan S. Gray
SeriesLabeled #1
Genre:  New Adult Romance
Published:  September 12th, 2016
Source:  free copy from Xpresso book tours for review
My rating:  5 stars

The name of this is what caught my attention first, and so I asked to read a copy for review.  And as you can see by my 5 star rating, I loved it!  So, if you promise not to give my secret away, I downloaded this while I was at work one day, and I actually read about 36% just while I was at work that day.  I couldn't stop!  This book made me tear up, it made me laugh, I just loved it!

The book starts with one of the main characters, Rebecca, gets dumped by her boyfriend in front of a bunch of people on campus, and one thing he does is calls her a prude.  Right afterwards, another guy comes up, and he tries to ask her out, but he's only doing it for a bet.  Shortly after that, she gets to one of her classes and it turns out that the jerk who asked her out on a bet, Derek, is in that class.  Even worse, they end up getting paired together on a class project.
Now Rebecca just wants to keep her perfect GPA, and when Derek picks a presentation to do, instead of a paper like she wants to do, she is so worried about if it will cause her grade to go down.  She's not good with speaking in front of people.

Of course, Derek continues to tease her about being a prude, and in a way she keeps acting that way.  Rebecca does things that make me crazy, like spooning with him one night, and then telling him the next morning that she just wants to be friends.  And then he is really secretive about his family, and really you have no idea why.  Towards the end something comes around that scared me that it might be another bet. But the way it goes definitely makes the last 10% edge of your seat.  I read this book in 2 days.  There were gushy romantic parts that made me smile like a love-sick idiot.  The kind that I love in a book.  In the end I was even more happy to find out that there will be another book featuring one of the other characters in the book.  I'm actually getting ready to read and review it soon!

If you enjoy a hard to put down read with lots of emotional ups and downs, and an HEA, this is the book for you!
