Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga's Reviews. It is a way for us to share the new books we have collected. I did much better with buying physical books this week. Not so great with downloading the free e-books though. I did get a package from a friend, Mary at Bookhounds, some books she was not wanting anymore. I also got the prize from the I Read YA week that I won as well!
Physical books:
I purchased a copy of Nash by Jay Crownover which I just finished listening to the audiobook of last week. I needed a copy to get signed! I think Nash might be my favorite of the Marked Men so far! On the left is the cool new planner/organizer for 2017 that I bought at the Barnes and Noble where I work. It is a Kate Spade Barnes and Noble exclusive, and I love it! It wasn't cheap, but with my 30% discount, I went ahead and bought it to be ready for next year! And, since there are some e-galleys already available for books that are published next January, I can already start using it.
The ARC was a little extra surprise! And I was so excited to see it because it was one of the samplers at the B-Fest last weekend, and from the little bit I read, I am very excited for it!
Mary at Bookhounds emailed and asked me if I wanted any of these books she was going to be cleaning out, and I said yes! Now, the dachshund book was a little surprise, but a cute one! One of the books, the Melissa de la Cruz one at the bottom is for my school library, I'm going to take it in for my students, but the rest are for me! Unfortunately I can't remember if I have the other book in the Earth and Sky series by Megan Crewe, hoping I do, so that I can have a complete set! I haven't finished the series by Cynthia Hand, so I needed that one. And then I need to read that Sarah Rees Brennan series, and I think now I have all of them! The Dream Thieves ARC by Maggie Stiefvater may actually be one I end up trading. We'll see.

All of these are from Amazon. And I'm pretty sure all of them are free, except for Wednesday by E.L. Todd. That one was $4.99, and I bought it because I got a $5 credit on Amazon for downloading their mobile app. Although the app itself can't be used for downloading digital books. Weird.
So, once again too many ebooks, but all were pretty much free, so if I get to them, great, if not, oh well!
How did your shelves change this week?
Hope you enjoy your downtime to yourself. I'll be going on vacation at the end of the month and I look forward to not having to do anything, but relax.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy all your new books. Happy Reading!
Angela @ Angel's Guilty Pleasures
I'm looking forward to the relaxing time! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteWow, Colorado! That's an intense drive! I hope you enjoy all of your new books, Lisa.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog! Have a fantastic week. =)
Alyssa @ The Eater of Books!
It's mostly a straight drive on I-70, but the western part of Kansas is pretty flat and boring. But, since I'll be listening to audiobooks that I know I"m going to love, I'm actually kind of excited for the boring drive. :-) Thanks for returning the visit!
DeleteYou got some awesome books this week-- I spy some drool-worthy titles hanging out up there in your pictures!
ReplyDeleteAlso, you'll be in my neck of the woods for vacation (er...sort of. I mean, if you consider 9 hours away "my neck of the woods." What I'm trying to say is, I went to school in Laramie, which isn't all that far from Ft. Collins--hopefully you enjoy your vacation and find something awesome to do while there!
Thank you for stopping by my StS this week! Happy book-ing to you!
I'm excited for a bunch of them! I know what you mean by "neck of the woods"! I am always the same way when someone says they're going to be in Missouri, even if it is in St. Louis, clear across the state! :-) I'm looking forward to getting out of town, and the really new experience of this type of vacation on my own. Thanks for returning the stop!
DeleteGreat haul! I am curious about Disruption. Enjoy...and thanks for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteI thought Disruption sounded good as well! Thanks for returning the visit!
DeleteStorm is a good read! And OMG NASH!!! I loved him! Rome will forever be my favorite MM though. So glad you got Nash! I love Jay. She's the sweetest! I got to meet her at Apollycon 2016 and will see her again at Apollycon 2017 :-D. Happy reading and enjoy your haul! Here's my StS if you'd like to stop by my blog.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear about Storm! I cannot wait to meet Jay Crownover! She's going to be at the NOLA Story Con I'm going to in September. I've already started writing questions I want to ask so I won't forget. I wish I could go to Apollycon 2017, I think Anna Todd is going to be there and I want to meet her so bad! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteYes Anna Todd will be there and so will Jay again! Jay is absolutely the sweetest and you will love her!!! :-)
DeleteSo many great books! Your e-galleys all look amazing, I will definitely check them out. I look forward to reading your reviews as usual.
ReplyDeleteThanks! You'll have to go check some of them out too. Glad you could stop by!
DeleteI will definitely be back to read the discussion post about reviews. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI'll probably write the discussion post while I'm relaxing in Colorado this weekend. Already percolating ideas in my head! Thanks for visiting!
DeleteAnd The Trees Crept In does look spookyish! Looking forward to your discussion post and your Cover Char post- I skipped this week since the topic was kinda tough. Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteDoesn't it?! I've got another book by that author at home that I still need to get to. I've already found my covers for this week, just have to get the post ready! Thanks for stopping by, and I'll look forward to any comments you have for my discussion post!
DeleteOoh I love mountains! *sulks jealously*!!! Me and my camera would love to be there! Have a great time!
ReplyDeleteWell I guess I have a view of the mountains from the condo, but am not actually going to be in them. But that's okay, I'm still excited! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteColorado sounds so nice! I love road trips and I a sure you will have a great time. I hope you get the wifi issues worked out. Great haul! I am really cruious about And the Trees Crept In.
ReplyDeleteI do love road trips, especially now that I'm such an ebook fanatic! Thanks for visiting!
DeleteWoah!!! You got so many books this past week!! Are you sure you didn't forget any?? I'm so totally kidding!!
ReplyDeleteThere's this rumor I heard years ago and I'm wondering if it's true: I heard that if you work at B&N, they discourage you from having a blog, or something like that. Crazy, right?
Drive safely and enjoy your "quiet" time!! I love Colorado!!
LOL!!! I keep the emails that say I purchased from Amazon or Nook in a special folder every week until I do this post. :-) I've never had anyone discourage me from having a blog while I've worked at B&N. ANd I've worked there for over 10 years! Since 2000 for the company, although part of that was B. Dalton. Thanks for stopping by, I can't wait for my time in Colorado!
DeleteWhat! What a great haul. I love the graphics for this blog! Did you draw them? Thank you for visiting my blog. I started following you this week with Networked Blogs, and Bloglovin. My Brother lives near Fort Collins in Loveland, Colorado. Have a safe and fun trip.
ReplyDeleteThanks! No, unfortunately I am not artistically inclined. But I had a friend who did the graphics for me at the top. :-) He is awesome! I've heard a lot of great things about Fort Collins and I can't wait to visit! Thanks for stopping by, and following, and now I need to go make sure I'm following you as well!
DeleteThat's great you are going away on a retreat. I could really use one of those to do some writing! I hope your drive goes well and you have a ton of fun!!
ReplyDeleteThat planner is so cute. I really need to get a nicer one for next week, so I can keep track of all sorts of things. Right now I just have a smaller one for blog things.

I hope I get lots of writing done. Everyone keeps giving me ideas of things to do while I'm there. But I don't have money to spend on doing things, and I want to do lots of relaxing and writing. I have a pretty good one for blogging this year, but I couldn't pass this one up. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteI hope this week will be a bit slower, Lisa! Last week sounds quite busy, and the nap instead of the gym sounds like something I would do, too :)
ReplyDeleteYour haul is amazing! And I want the dachshund book :) I have a dachshund puppy, and he's so much fun!
Have a wonderful week and happy reading.
Lexxie @ (un)Conventional Bookviews
It hasn't slowed down yet! But hopefully my retreat will be good. Not sure I'm going to get all my walking done before I go though. Dachshunds are the best! Thanks for visiting!
DeleteAnd the Trees Crept In looks spooky. :)

I've heard her other book is pretty spooky! So I'm excited for both.
DeleteKudos on your working out. I REALLY need to get back into it myself. And wow what a haul this week! Enjoy your new books! Thanks for stopping by my SP & STS.
ReplyDeleteSandy @ Somewhere Only We Know
I'm not doing so great this week, but with going out of town I'm pretty off schedule. Thanks for returning the stop!
DeleteSUPERRRRR jealous you got Blood for Blood! You NEED TO READ Wolf by Wolf now. It's so great! :D
ReplyDeleteMolly @ Molly's Book Nook
Yeah, I'll have to get to it soon! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteI hope your trip is going well! That is a very long way to drive by yourself. I totally agree with the people who said you need to get out and enjoy Colorado, though. If I could, I would live there - it's SO beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteNicole @ Feed Your Fiction Addiction
So far it's going pretty well. I got a bit of writing done today. Probably should be doing more, but I'm glad about what I did get! While the drive was long, the audiobook totally made it seem like it was really quick. It is definitely beautiful! Tomorrow I think I'm going to just go for a walk around the area I think.
