Book info:
TitleLove, Sincerely, Yours
Author:  Sara Ney and Meghan Quinn
Genre:  Adult contemporary romance
Release Date:  October 9th, 2018
Source:  E-galley from InkSlinger PR
My rating:   4.5 stars

Synopsis:

Dear Mister...**strike out** no, too formal.

Hey there sweet cheeks *strike out* no, too forward.

To whom it may concern,

Full disclosure; before we move forward with this email, I would like it to be known that I have consumed an adequate amount of alcoholic beverages to intoxicate myself tonight. Three margaritas, two shots, and one beer—because it was free.

I think it’s important to be open and honest with your co-workers, don’t you?

So here I am, being honest. Drunk but honest. Or just drunk with lust? You decide.

I like you so much it’s clouding my judgment and making me do things I never would sober. Like write this letter.

I have a hopeless, foolish, schoolgirl crush on you when you are the last person on earth I should be falling for. Did you know people around the office call you a sadist? An egomaniac. An insensitive, arrogant prick. Your bark is worse then your bite, and you don’t scare me. The fact is, I’d love that bite of yours to nip at my bare skin while we’re both wearing nothing but sheets.

For once I want you to look at me as more than one of your employees.

And as long as we're being honest, that navy blue suit you wear? With the crisp white shirt? It really makes me want to loosen your tie and show you who’s boss.

Love,

Sincerely,

Yours.

My Review:
Believe it or not, a story that basically started with such a risque letter in the plot was really a pretty sweet story.  Sure, there were steamy bits, but they came later, and didn't encompass the whole story.  The sexual tension between Rome and Peyton built up throughout the story, and kept me hanging, waiting for it to be gratified, probably as much as the characters themselves felt it!

As I've come to expect and look forward to from these two authors, the banter between these two leads, as well as between their friends, had me laughing out loud and thinking to myself how much they reminded me of me and my own friends.  Rome and his best friend's conversations were so funny!  I love characters like that.  And then we had Peyton's friends, who after asking her to come out on Friday evening, and she turns them down to stay home, ask her if that means "no bra". When she confirms that it does, the one friend does say that tops going out for just about any reason.  I totally agree.  Although they were going out to have chicken strips, which is a weakness of mine!

Since we didn't really get much more than the thoughts of what the two wanted to do to each other when they were close until way at the end of the book, this is one of those stories where less can work more than sex right away.  It kept the characters straight on their paths and standards for not fooling around in the work place.  While I was a little confused at how it seemed Rome couldn't figure out who the anonymous email writer was even with his first few interactions with Peyton, the authors didn't keep it a secret from him way past when it would make sense. Although I did feel that he misunderstood it a bit at first, and that his reaction to her somewhat rejection might have been a little off for his own views of sex with employees, it wasn't dwelt upon in any way that normally I feel is taken too far for dramatic purposes in stories.  The amount of time for them to deal with their misunderstandings was realistic in my opinion, and made me really enjoy the story without scoffing at my normal annoyances in a romance.

I loved this project from these two authors, and look forward to possible reading more like this from the two of them together possibly, as well as looking forward to reading from each of them independently.

Excerpt:
I open the company messenger app on my phone and scroll through the executive names, knowing full well I’m about to break a policy. It’s the company’s phone, and the company’s app, and I’m about to use it for personal use. To flirt.

With my boss.

I close my eyes, find his name—next to it is a little, green dot, which means. . .

He’s on the app.

I’ve never talked to him live before so this is a huge step, but then again, it might be more fun to get his initial reactions to my comments.

Debating it for all but two seconds, I type out a message to him, making sure I’m signed on under my LSY persona.

HandsRomingMyBody: Hey you

My text turns into a new message on the app and I wait on bated breath to see if he will respond. Nerves prickle up my spine, my fingers feeling numb, my mind playing mutiny with my heart just as little dots appear letting me know he’s typing.

Oh God, I don’t think I’ve been more excited.

Like a goddamn ray of sunshine, light streaming behind her from the window, a halo shining above her pretty head.

Her lying, beautiful head.

Dark hair, wavy and glossy, down around her shoulders, the rich color picking up red from the sun.

She’s holding a glass—it’s poised at her lips and she’s about to take a sip—when our eyes meet. She lowers it, her mouth parts, and her smile spreads.

Until I scowl. Then, her face morphs from happy to concerned in a second. Damn right she should be concerned.

I nod.

She nods.

My eyes trail down the front of her and I note her dress—it’s baby blue, wrapped and tied at the waist, and shows off her curves while highlighting her legs in those sexy-as-shit heels.

Stop thinking about her curves and legs. You’re not here to admire her

The pile of gifts in the corner pisses me off, bringing me back into the present, back to my rage, and has me lifting my arm; crooking my finger.

Peyton’s brows go up at the same time her head cocks and she pokes a finger into her own chest. “Me?”

“Yeah. You.” I know she can’t hear me, but I say it anyway—and if she’s any good at reading lips, she’ll haul her ass over here right quick.

Her cup is passed. Skirt gets smoothed out. Chin tilts high.

She heads over.

Good girl

“Follow me,” I order her when we’re on the outskirts of the room. When we’re clear across the office common area, I pivot to face her.

She’s shorter, even in heels, so I have to dip my head to glare at her.  “Want to tell me exactly what the fuck is going on in there?”
