Book Blitz with Review: Love, Luck, and Clusterf*ck (Legal #3) by Bree Dahlia

Book info:
Title:  Love, Luck, and Clusterf*ck
Author:  Bree Dahlia
Series:  Legal #3
Publication date: August 14th, 2017
Genres: Adult, Comedy, Romance
Synopsis:
From the author of the Legal series comes a hot and hilarious new STANDALONE.
I met him on the luckiest day of the year.
Of course, I wasn’t aware of his true identity at the time. I only knew him as the arrogant blond god who gave me a shamrock necklace. For luck.
As if I needed it.
Okay, maybe I did. But it was presumptuous of him to assume I wanted his help – all because he made it his business to pry into my personal conversation.
I, Perry Sommers, want a life makeover.
I want to stop being so impulsive and start acting like a grown up.
I want to settle down and have a real relationship, instead of a series of clusterf*cks.
I want to fall in love. Just not with this man.
But love isn’t fair. It doesn’t care if someone is off-limits, and Stephen Davidson definitely is. I can handle that. Our intense chemistry tests me on a near constant basis. I can handle that too.
What I can’t handle is how much I’ve come to need him in my life. I never expected this infuriating hard-ass to become my best friend, but now that he has, I never want to let him go.
I can’t destroy the bond we share, but there is only so much a woman can take before she breaks.
Before she throws it all away for one perfect night.
** This friends to lovers standalone takes place six years before Legal. It does not need to be read in conjunction with the others in the series. **

My Review:
My rating:  4 stars
I really enjoyed the first two books in this series, Legal, and Lyrical.  And while this book takes place in the same world, it is definitely not one you have to read the other two before.  I was very excited for this story because you really get to know Perry in the first two books, and it was a lot of fun getting to see how she actually got together with Jillian's brother Stephen.  I mean, you really do love Perry in the first two books.  At least I pretty much did.

Now, in this book, I did get a little irritated with her, and that is probably the only reason I dropped this to a 4 star instead of a 5, because like with the first two books, I was barely able to put this one down.  I'd be sitting in a meeting and wondering when I could get back to reading it.  The reason I got so irritated with Perry is because here is this guy that she's been seeing, casually, a friend with benefit you might say, who has decided he wants to be serious.  And even though for some reason she doesn't seem to even want to have sex with him anymore, she keeps giving him a chance.  Seriously, as much as she could tell from the feelings she got, I don't understand why she stayed with him.  It's not like she had asked him to be serious, or that she even necessarily wanted it.  So I feel like that was a bit of stupidity on her part.

However, I could totally understand her frustration with Stephen (Jillian's brother), and why she fought things with him at first.  And then at the end, I could understand how she was wondering if he still was interested in more than friends, and also her worrying about losing him as a friend if she tried to go for more.  You've probably heard me talk about how I get irritated with that last little misunderstanding that happens in romances, how by that time they are totally being ridiculous with not trusting. But the way it happens in this one, for both of them, well, it totally made sense to me.  I could see both of their sides.

The story did keep me going wondering just what was up with her best friend at the time, Christa, as well as why she couldn't get on board with actually being with Dre.

In the end it was so much fun to see Perry and Stephen's romance unfold.  I look forward to reading more by this author in the future, and think you should totally pick up her books today!

Author Bio:
Bree Dahlia is an unconventional romance junkie. She loves reading it but adores writing it even more. Her stories range from lighthearted to sizzling with that satisfying Happily Ever After ending and a touch of the unexpected. She favors themes of friendship, forgiveness, and unconditional love with alpha characters and eccentric tastes.
She holds degrees that she does nothing with and has experienced a long string of jobs that have left her unfulfilled. Only as an author, has she truly found her passion. When not crafting stories in her small Wisconsin town, she hikes unbeaten trails, watches hockey games, and wishes she didn’t detest cooking so much.
Dahlia is her middle name. Her last name is more suitable for a horror writer.
