This time he didn’t text. He just called, waking her at two-fifteen a.m.  

“Bare-ly dressed again tonight?”  

Her laugh, filled with sleep was gruff. “Barely dressed every night.”

“What exactly do you have on?”

“A pink tank top and pink silk bikini.”

“Take them off,” he ordered.

“Excuse me,” there was an element of surprise in Kylie’s voice.

“You heard me. Take them off. Now.” Just hearing rustling on the other end of the line, he could feel his cock stiffen and it felt damn good after all this time. Baby, I’m back, he thought.  

“We’re having phone sex? But, Jesse, we haven’t even kissed yet,” her protest was weak. And even she knew it.  

“Yes, we’re having phone sex, and when I get back to New York, we’re going to do a lot more than kiss. You’ve friend-zoned me, Toots, and I’m busting out.”  

Kylie was smiling on her end of the phone. Friend-zoned Jesse Fucking Winslow? Was he serious? “Nobody puts Jesse in a friend-zone,” she couldn’t help herself.

“Are they off?” He totally ignored her joke.  

“Mmm-hmm.”  

“What was that?” he asked, his voice gruff and serious.  

“Yes, they’re off.”

“Okay, spread your legs, and with your phone, take a picture of your pussy for me.”  

“Seriously?” She knew she was blushing in the dark.  

“Take the picture, Kylie.”  

“Okay, but if you sell this to the paparazzi, I will kill you.” There was a rustling sound, then, “Oh, my God, I can’t believe I’m doing this.”  

He laughed.

“Okay, here it comes. I hope it’s photogenic. It would be really embarrassing to have a non-photogenic pussy.”

Pulling the phone from his ear to look, Kylie could hear his moan, exciting her even more.  

“So photogenic, Toots, just like the rest of you. And I love the red landing strip. It’s so hot. Oh, man, I love this. Spread your legs wider and use one hand to spread your lips open for me and send me another.”  

Following his directions, she did as he requested.

I did find 8 this week, but narrowed it down to 5.  And actually, a lot of the pictures are people almost kissing.  So that made me think twice about which ones to pick as well.  And I ended up with two favorites.  But first the other three I picked.

Timeless (Transcend Time Saga #3) by Michelle Madow

I had ordered all of Michelle Madow's books into the bookstore where I worked a while ago.  But when this one came in, it got put in adult fiction, as opposed to teen fiction where you would think.  And so, I never noticed when it arrived since I was always checking in the teen section.  Then, I didn't work for over a month.  So when I finally worked again a week ago, I made sure to see if it was still in the store, and then I bought it.  And, I finally got it read.  It was a very quick read, but a good one!  There will  unfortunately have to be some spoilers for those who haven't read the series yet, as this is the final book, but I'll try not to spoil for those who are still waiting to read this but have read the first two.
If you'll remember in my review of book 2, Vengeance, I was disappointed in how short it was.  Only because I wanted so much more!  It was good though.  And so as we go into the 3rd book, Chelsea is still angry at Lizzie.  And since the spell that she cast in book 2, Lizzie is now experiencing some scary omens.  When there are too many strange things happening with crows, Lizzie and Drew decide to go see Alistair, Lizzie's memory guide as she has been reincarnated, what we learned in book 1, Remembrance.  He does know that she has been cursed.  And they narrow it down to two suspects, either Jeremy or Chelsea.  Once Jeremy has been eliminated, Lizzie must figure out how to find out exactly what kind of spell Chelsea did, and also how can to fix it?  In another turn of events, Lizzie's mom has begun dating Chelsea's dad.  So when they have to spend Thanksgiving together, Lizzie doesn't know if she'll  be able to ever get her best friend back, and if she can, can they reverse this spell, within the month of time they have, before what happened to Lizzie in the past, a young death, becomes her new reality.  There is a trip to England, and even some needing to go back to the past to resolve the issues from that time.
It's a great ending, wrapped up very quickly, but pretty realistically in my opinion.  Without a lot of dragging out by having one thing after another go wrong in their attempts to solve it.  Not to say that it all goes off perfectly without any hitches, it just doesn't get to the ridiculous points that some stories do where you just have to say enough already, we know it's going to end happy, so go ahead and just solve it already!
Great story.  And while Madow's next series doesn't sound exactly like my type of book, I'm sure the writing will be just as good!

Vengeance (Transcend Time #2) by Michelle Madow

So this is the 2nd "book" in the Transcend Time series by Michelle Madow.  I wrote in my review of the first one about getting to meet the author last year at BEA, so I won't bore you about that again.  The reason I say book in quotation marks is because it is really just a short story.  When I ordered it in to the bookstore where I work, I was disappointed to see how small it was.  I actually was worried that it was just a sampler, and not a real book, and I was afraid I'd get in trouble for ordering it in.  But I was wrong, it is the actual short story in book form.
The premise is a good one.  It picks up with Lizzie's friend Chelsea at the point where Lizzie tried to explain the connection that she had with Drew, and why they were now dating.  And the story is about Chelsea wanting to get back at  her best friend.  We learn that there was another time that Chelsea felt she stepped back from a boy for Lizzie, although Lizzie didn't ever know how Chelsea felt.  But this time Lizzie knew, and that is what hurts Chelsea.  And Chelsea has found a new ally, Shannon.  One of Jeremy's new friend's girlfriend.  Someone that Lizzie never could quite get to like, as much as Jeremy asked her to try.  But Shannon has someone in her life who also knows about past lives.  And she helps Chelsea to realize that she has one, and that things aren't going the way they did last time, which was in Chelsea's favor.
I'm very interested to see how this leads into the 3rd book in the series, Timeless, and hope that I can get that ordered into my store soon now that it has been released.
Short review I know, but, short story!

Transcendence by C.J. Omololu

First, thanks to NetGalley and Bloomsbury Publishers for letting me read this as an egalley.  I really liked this book.  It is a book about reincarnation.  Which reminds me of another of my favorite book series, The Eternal Ones by Kirsten Miller.  Yes, Incarnate by Jodi Meadows is also about reincarnation, but it is a little different, and I'm guessing a different planet than Earth?  And of course there is always the book Reincarnation by Suzanne Weyn.  All of these books are ones I enjoyed.  And this one didn't disappoint either.  We started out with our main character Cole, short for Nicole, in London with her sister Kat and their father.  They're touring the famous Tower of London where many people were held and later beheaded or executed nearby, including Anne Boleyn.  Cole has a vision of someone being beheaded in the main area of the Tower.  When she has this vision, she stumbles and is caught by a very cute boy named Griffon.  Griffon seems to recognize her at first, although she doesn't know who he is.  Soon she learns that they are connected somehow, and when she is back home she learns he lives nearby and they meet up again.  They get closer, and eventually not only do her visions keep popping up, dangerous things start happening to her.  Griffon tells her she is what is called Akhet.  Basically in this story it sounds as if anyone can be reincarnated, but only some remember past lives, and these are the Akhet.  It seems someone in Cole's life may be from her past, and be after revenge, for something that Cole slowly remembers that she is probably not really responsible for.  But Griffon has his secrets too, and they threaten to come between him and Cole.  Cole doesn't know who to trust when she realizes just where the connection between her and Griffon is from. 
I need to start taking notes when I'm reading ebooks because I know there was something I wanted to remark on, some quirky little part that really made me laugh or stood out to me, but I can't remember it now.  I hope to learn more about Cole's first life she is remembering, the time when she was beheaded.  This will definitely be a recommendation for me when it is published and arrives at the bookstore.  I like that there is going to be a sequel because there was definitely a loose end left with another person Cole met that seemed to know her. 
Finally, this will count as my "J" on my A-Z Reading Challenge for the author's name.

All You Desire (Eternal Ones #2) by Kirsten Miller

First I want to say welcome to all my new followers! I am working on going through all my comments and visiting all of you, but it's slow going as I try to work it in between my Labor Day activities, grading, and trying to read. But I intend to get to all of you in the next few days if I haven't stopped by yet. Also, now that I've reached 200 followers, I believe it's time for another giveaway, and I'm thinking a Barnes and Noble gift card. So be on the look out for that in the next week or so.
I was so excited when this book came out because I loved the first one, Eternal Ones. But since I read the first one as an ARC, it seemed an extra long time since I'd read it. So when I first picked up the book it took a little bit to remember the whole story exactly. But once I got into the story it all started coming back, and I got sucked right into the story. And it got to where all I wanted to do was read, but as seems to be happening since school started back up, I didn't have as much time. My adorable little puppy Dora, also kept me from reading as much. So it took me much longer than it should have, because if it wasn't for the puppy, I'd have probably finished it late one night in bed.
We start off with Haven and Iain in Italy, Iain is thought to be dead, which they did because he was wanted for a murder, that he didn't commit. Also, Adam, the guy who has loved Haven in all her lives, but is evil, has promised Haven one lifetime in which he will let her live her life without his interference. Her childhood friend Beau, who she learned also was with her in past lifetimes, calls to let her know that he has met someone who says he is Beau's soulmate from a past life, and Beau is going to meet him in New York. Shortly after Beau becomes incommunicado, and Haven receives a call from another friend back home, Leah, who can see the future. She tells Haven that Beau is in trouble, and there is a woman in NY that can help her. When Haven tells Iaian who this woman is, he tells Haven this woman is really a fake. But she has to go anyway as she will do anything to save Beau. As Haven is really sure that Adam must have something to do with Beau's disappearance, she accepts the woman's proposal to try to entrap Adam to get him to help her, and maybe find out what he's done. The woman is part of an ancient group of women called the Horae, also reincarnated, who are trying to get Adam away from the world so he will quit causing so many people to die.
But as Haven hangs around with Adam, he tries to show her how he is changing to be a better person for her. Haven is warned that he's opened a school to make zombies out of the young reincarnated kids to make them his slaves. So she goes to visit the school, and is instead very impressed by what is being done for these kids, so they are not made to feel freaks for the very things she had to go through as a child. She begins to really believe Adam has changed for the better, and is not sure she wants to help the Horae imprison him anymore. There are some twists and turns, and the story keeps you guessing till the end on who is really the bad guy in keeping Beau hidden.
As with the first book, I loved again going back to read about the past lives and how history was worked into them. A great book, and I now can't wait to see what happens in the next one as this left off with another cliffhanger in a way.

Waiting On Wednesday - All You Desire by Kirsten Miller

This week I've chosen the book All You Desire by Kirsten Miller. This is the sequel to her book The Eternal Ones which I was lucky enough to get to read as an ARC. Here is the synopsis from Goodreads.com:

Haven Moore and Iain Morrow have been living a blissful life in Rome, an ocean way from the Ouroboros Society and its diabolical leader. But paradise is not to last. The mysterious disappearance of Haven's best friend, Beau, sends the pair running back to New York, where they encounter the Horae, an underground group of women who have spent centuries scheming to destroy Adam Rosier. Only they can help Haven uncover the secret to Beau's whereabouts in one of her past lives. I loved the story in the first book, it was one of several reincarnation books I found at that time to read. So I'm looking forward to reading on with the story and seeing where it goes next.

The Eternal Ones by Kirsten Miller

This is part of a boxed set that Penguin publisher sent to the bookstore. I actually received 2 of the other books singly through a Shelf Awareness giveaway, but when I saw that the store had all 5 they had advertised to give away that week, I took the whole box home. (After some convincing by Mary at the store) I chose to read them in order of when they are going to be published, and this one is supposed to be due out this August.

As I first began reading it, I was immediately reminded of a book by Suzanne Weyn that I purchased a recent book fair at the school I work at. It was called somewhat unoriginally titled Reincarnation. So I guess that gives you an idea what The Eternal Ones is about. In Reincarnation we go through several different times, cavemen, ancient Egypt, ancient Rome, World War II, Salem witch trials, all kinds of famous time periods. And some we barely touch on. Also the characters in this book sometimes change, like the girl is a guy sometimes and the guy is the girl. I did enjoy the history, and if you look back on my blog, I'm sure I reviewed this book at some point in the past year.

Unlike the Weyn book, Miller's book is much more detailed, and has actual evil involved. Our main character's name is Haven, in this life at least. Ever since she was a little girl Haven has been having visions, and talking about needing to find someone named Ethan. Her grandmother Imogene believes she has a demon and enlists the town preacher to help her. It seems Haven has been cured, the visions seem to stop, until Haven is a senior in high school and sees a young celebrity on the news who has been accused of murder. Haven knows/feels that this is the Ethan she has been looking for. He lives in New York though, and after Haven's latest vision, her grandmother has tightened back up Haven's life, and has now told her she may not go to college in the fall.

Haven's mother gives her a box of things her father had collected before he died in a car accident. Her father had contacted a society in New York called the Ouroboros Society, because he believed his daughter may have been reincarnated, and that was their specialty. Once I got into this, I didn't want to put it down. I will definitely be handselling at the store, put it as my staff rec, as well as recommending it to students at school. Reincarnation by Suzanne Weyn

Funny story, I took this when it was a stripped cover book at the store. Then bought it later at a school bookfair. So I was able to conveniently keep one copy at school to read at lunch, and then, when it turned out to be such a good read, I was able to read it at home as well.

This is the story of two, you might call them star-crossed lovers, people who keep meeting over time as they are reincarnated as different people in different times, and always something keeps them apart, or ends one of their lives right as things are about to start happening for them. It begins with the boy as a Neanderthal I'm guessing, and the girl as a Cro-Magnon. Then they are an Egyptian and a Nubian, then they come back in ancient Greece, and so on and so forth. Almost all the times we see them also seem to be either big historical times, or else very charged with some kind of racial tension. At one point the girl is even reincarnated as a guy, and the guy is reincarnated as a girl.

Fun story, and in the end, modern times, it seems as if they may actually get a chance to be together, although the story leaves off before we could possibly know for sure. But we are left with hope.
