-->Author Interview:
1. What does your writing process look like? Do you know the whole story when you start? Or do you just start writing and go with it (seat of the pants writing)? If you plan it out, how do you do that? Outline, notecards, post-it-notes, etc.?

Previously, I’ve always been a seat of the pants kind of writing gal! However, as I am now writing a series, I have had to be more mindful about plot continuation from book two through to book three. Being honest, I initially wrote The Corner Shop in Cockleberry Bay as a stand alone novel, but the outcry has been so great for further books, I have listened to my readers and Cockleberry is about to come alive again with Meet Me in Cockleberry Bay.

2. Do you edit as you go, or wait till you're finished before you edit? How many
times would you say you go over it yourself before having another set of eyes look it over?

I rarely edit as I go, but if I have a few days between writing, then to ensure continuation I do reread the whole thing before starting to write again. I reread the whole thing once before I hand it to my editor.

3Are you part of a writers group that gets together and helps each other with their writing?

I have never been part of a writing group. I feel I have just honed my craft as I’ve gone along.

4. I love dachshunds, and have always had one in my family since I was a little girl. Why did you choose a dachshund for the story?

Now this is a funny thing, I’ve never owned a dog. But dachshunds just look such cute, funny little characters and I thought Hot would just bounce of Rosa’s quirky ways perfectly. He definitely seems to be a big hit with readers and Meet Me in Cockleberry Bay seems him getting into some further doggy mischief.

5. What are your favorite:
Books/authors/genres
I love reading romcom and enjoy Milly Johnson, Marian Keyes and Carole Matthews. Kim Nash is a new author in this genre to look out for too.
I also love all of Victoria Heslop’s books and Patrick Gale is such a master of clever one liners, plus writes bad characters so well, that I’ve read all of his too.

Movies/TV Shows
I’m not a big film buff, but I’ve watched Love Actually, Notting Hill, Bridget Jones Diary and Pretty Woman at least twenty times each.
I have a crush on Ant Middleton, so I love all the SAS shows that he heads up. I also am an avid TV game show watcher. The Chase and Tenable are currently my favourites.

Music
I’ve just discovered how to play Spotify through my car speakers to I’m opening myself up to all sorts of new music. I love Ed Sheeran; and whilst on holiday in Dubai saw him live, which was amazing. I also love the tone of Harry Styles and the lyrics of the Artic Monkeys. I have been a life long fan of Robbie Williams. Seeing him live at Kebworth was very special.

Food/Writing snack
I am an avid tea drinker. Nothing fancy, just good old English breakfast. So, if I’m head down writing and don’t want to cook; tea and toast with real butter and marmalade is quite often on the menu.
