I was lucky enough to receive the first book in the series, Fame and Obsession, through a giveaway from the author on Facebook.  If you read my review HERE, you'd know that I just loved it!  I posted this second book in the series as my Can't Wait Wednesday post last week, and tagged the author in my post.  Lucky me, I got an email from her asking if I wanted to review the second book early.  Of course I said yes, and she sent it to me.  I started reading it almost immediately, because I was so ready to find out where Julian and Phoebe's story would go next.  I had actually assumed that it would be more like other rock star romance series books, where you get a different member of the band's story in each book.  But Julian and Phoebe's story wasn't done.  You see Phoebe was pregnant, and she and Julian were mostly happy together, but Phoebe's murderous father was still out there, and still looking for his daughter for revenge.

Phoebe is still dealing with the anxiety she's had ever since her dad first attacked and stabbed her in college.  Not knowing where he is, along with Julian traveling a lot because of the band taking off, has her anxiety ratcheting up.  And with being pregnant, there soon come some problems.  Julian tries his best to be home with Phoebe as much as possible, and really wants her to marry him, but she isn't sure.  She doesn't understand why they need to get married when they know they love each other.  But all these things are not only stressing Phoebe out, Julian is keeping secrets, things he's doing to protect her, but she can't trust someone who is keeping secrets from her, and these little things put wedges between them.  When the baby does come, things seem to be okay for awhile.  Until the two of them seem to drift further apart, followed by the chance that Phoebe's father may have found her, and they are constantly trying to keep watch and keep their little Iris Rose safe.

This story has so much emotion in it.  There were parts that I was in tears, sometimes happy, other times so sad.  There was a ton of suspense in it.  Knowing that her father was around, we got a glimpse of him at the beginning of the story, not to mention the gifts he was sending.  I love the way it all unfolded, how it wasn't exactly as cut and dry as what they thought was going on.  It kept me guessing and saying "wow" as I learned each new detail and extent of what the final conflict would be.

And I love that we got an epilogue that was five years after.  I'm extremely excited that the next book will follow another one of the band members, Zane.  I am wondering however if the next story will take place at this five years later point, or if we'll be going back before that.  I'm good either way!  A new favorite author of mine, I highly recommend this series!
