Synopsis:

In a world where marriage doesn’t exist—only seven-year contracts—you don’t marry, you sign. You don’t divorce, you breach. And sometimes, you just expire.

In this hilarious conclusion to Erin Lyon's I Love You Subject to the Following Terms and Conditions, Kate has accepted a job practicing signing law, the one type of law she swore she'd never do - especially since what she thought was her very own happily ever after turned into just another expired contract. But between Kate's embarrassing penchant for running into exes in court, clients determined to use her as their very own therapist, and a couple having a knock-down, drag-out over the custody of the family guinea pig, at least the job's never boring.

But while Kate finally has a handle on her career, her love life is still, well, complicated. The former love of her life, Jonathan, wants her back. Her current main squeeze, Dave, wants to take things to the next level, but she still can't shake her wolf-in-sheep's-clothing vibe about him. And then there's Adam, her mad crush who really wants to be her friend. So, to sum up, one questionable ex, one player with a capital "P," and one guy who's kind of stolen her heart even though she's in the friend zone. This should be a piece of cake.

Unconditionally is both a sweet and sexy romantic comedy and a hilariously relatable look at finding happiness where you least expect it.

Praise for UNCONDITIONALLY

My cell vibrated. Scarlett.

“Scarlett, this is my cell phone. I’ve asked you—repeatedly—to call my office phone. Please call me back.” And I hung up.

My office phone buzzed a minute later.

“Uh, Scarlett says you hung up on her?” Mags asked.

“I told her not to call my cell anymore.” Then I may have growled. “Just put her through.”

I made sure I’d clocked in on her time clock. If reason couldn’t get her to stop calling me ten times a day, maybe receiving her first bill would. “Hello, Scarlett.”

“Really, Kate? That’s pretty childish.”

“Scarlett, it is not a work cell—it’s my personal cell. I’ve asked you to call the office but you won’t listen.”

“Fine. I have a grievance.” Of course you do. “Rhett’s whore walked out to her car in just a T-shirt and underpants.”

“That may be tacky, Scarlett, but I don’t see how it’s a violation of the order.”

“Because he’s doing it to piss me off!”

“Not enough. It needs to be harassing you or coming onto your property.”

“He is harassing me.”

“Having a nooner is not barred by the order!” I said, raising my voice a little. I glanced up, and Jared was standing in my doorway with a smile on his face. “Call me if he actually violates the order. I have to go.”

I hung up and put my fingertips to my forehead. “Sorry about that,” I said, looking up at Jared.

“No problem. That’s one of the funniest things I’ve heard all day.”

 My Review:
I was very pleased with how this book wrapped up the story from book one, I Love You *Subject to the Following Terms and Conditions.   It's been almost exactly a year since I read the first book, but the way the author started this one, she quickly gave you a review of what had happened before, but it was done in such a seamless way, it was just a natural part of the story that didn't stand out as an info dump at all.  It got me right back into the story, and I was quickly sucked back in and it became hard to put down to go to work, sleep, you name it.

Once again I loved all the characters, and I was glad that Kate was strong about telling Adam she couldn't be just friends with him.  I think he needed that.  And I like that she was straight-forward with Dave, even if his past womanizing ways made him not quite understanding.  I began to not dislike Jonathan as much either.  So the way it all ended for Kate, with her three men, was the perfect ending.

We got to meet a lot of interesting clients in the first book, I mean Kate got punched!  But the characters in this one, wow, they were so hilarious!  You get a glimpse of one of them in the excerpt above.  In the end, Kate figures out what she is best at, and if contract law will be for her.

A great couple of books.  I would totally love more, maybe we could see the contract killer we have left at the end get his happy ending?  I don't know.  But I really enjoyed this.  I look forward to reading more books by Erin Lyon in the future.

About the Author:
Erin Lyon graduated with a bachelor's degree in English and then worked in broadcast television at the Sacramento ABC affiliate for 10 years before going to law school. She is now a practicing civil attorney and blames all of the people in her life for not trying to talk her out of the whole “becoming a lawyer” thing. After finishing law school, she completed her first novel and began working on the sequels. Erin lives in Northern California with her husband of nearly 20 years (the Saint), her two daughters (the Girls), her three rescue dogs (the Boys), and three cats, who, let’s be real, belong only to themselves. The Contract Killers is her debut novel.
