Sunday Post #16 and Stacking the Shelves November 16th, 2014

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted  @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news ~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead. See rules here: Sunday Post Meme.   With NaNoWriMo going on, I kind of like this so I can recap that as well as what I did on the blog during the week.

Last week on the blog:
I got my two reviews in this week, so I'm glad for that.  I got to the 25,000 words that I needed for NaNoWriMo by Saturday, or I got over 24,000, so that's close.  It was another crazy busy week, but one really exciting thing happened.  Thursday night I got to go to a question and answer with Stephen King!  I didn't get to meet him or get an autographed book unfortunately.  But, it was so neat to listen to him.  He was such a great speaker, and had such great things to say.  He chimed in on the recent news stories that have put down adults who read YA, and even listed off some of his favorite YA books, Harry Potter and also the Gone  series by Michael Grant, which is one of my favorite series, and it reminded me of King's Under the Dome when I read it.  Here are some pictures of Stephen King from that night.

It was so great to get to see him in person, but I still hope to get to actually meet him some day.  The shopping trip I talked about last week was cancelled due to the forecast of snow for yesterday.  However the snow never really showed up, so that was disappointing to miss out on it.  Instead I got a lot of writing done with my friend.

This week on the blog:
  • Review of Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi
  • Cover Characteristic:  Last book in a series
  • Waiting on Wednesday
  • Orion's Curse Promo Post
  • Review:  Creed by Trisha Leaver (most likely next book to read)
That's all I know for sure.  I'd love to get started on the new Stephen King book I got Thursday night, Revival, and I might get started.  I just doubt I'll get done with a review this week.  I also have to write this week for NaNoWriMo.  And then Thursday I'm going to the marathon Hunger Games to see the first two and part one of the Mockingjay movie.

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga's Reviews.  It is a way for us to share the new books we have collected.  I got a few, and I'm sure there will be more this coming week.

ARCs won:

Both of these are from Fangirlish.   I've already read the 2nd one, but now am very excited to read all of Andrew Smith's books.

ARC from bookstore:

Book purchased:

 E-galleys from Edelweiss:

The first one is about a concentration camp in  World War II, and I have always been fascinated and feel like I need to read everything about it, so I was glad to be approved to read this.  The 2nd one goes along with my Andrew Smith comment above.

Free Nook Books:

The first one was a really cool free book that I had to get because I've heard so many great things about the series.  The last one, it sounded okay, but I love the peacock feathers on the cover, so that was all it took for me to download it for free.

So, those are the things I added to my shelf, and my plans for this week.  What did you add to your bookshelves, and what are your plans this week?
